Sadly, strong, booming voices in R&B today are few and far between. Gone are the Miss Patti's, the Chaka Khan's, the Deborah Cox's, the Rhonda Clark's and the Gladys Knight's, etc... It's ALL so reliant upon what studio tricks can be created to digitally enhance a voice that belongs to a "hot" exterior. Disgusting, if u ask ME. When did the music start having a "look" and not a "sound?" It makes me so fuckin' angry.

Obviously neither one of them are known to be powerhouse vocalists. The back & forth is unnecessary. Some may say Britney is a little bit better, others will say Janet but it's like asking which do you want for dinner piss or shit? Both are average but it doesn't matter because that's not their specialty.

They are primarily entertainers.

Britney can't sing. She got lucky debuting in the right era of music when boy bands and bubble gum pop was on the rise. I don't think she would've stood a chance in another era of music. Now she's just getting by based on her name and personal tribulations because everyone loves to cheer on the underdog.

R&B is R&B. Pop is Pop. R&B requires a strong or decent voice, Pop doesn't. If you have at least an enjoyable voice and know how to ride a beat with it you can make catchy tunes.

I think the only problem here is she lacks discipline in her voice, but there is potential to be as powerful as Christina, should of trained with Seth Riggs and gone country!
