Solo artists forming supergroups

Have ya'll noticed for quite sometime that some solo atrists are forming supergroups? Like for instance:

Gerald LeVert, Keith Sweat and Johnny Gill formed LSG and had some success

Tank, Ginuwine and Tyrese formed TGT, but they haven't gotten an album out due to record company conflicts, but continue to do shows together and some songs have been leaked on the internet

Kelly Price, Deborah Cox and Tamia had formed The Queen Project and are preparing to get it off the ground

Traveling Wilburys

Highwaymen

Blind Faith

Trio

You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

Not exactly solo acts, but The Temptations & Supremes made 2 or 3 albums together.

Jimmy & David Ruffin

Marvin Gaye & Tammi Terrell

Jerry Butler & Thelma Houston

Supremes & Four Tops

Marvin and Tammi is not one. No one knew who Tammi Terrell was before she started singing with Marvin unless you got her single when she was with James Brown that charted at number 99.

Also, Jerry Butler and Gene Chander.

I don't think they recorded anything together, but TTD went out on a tour as the lead singer for INXS.

There was also The Power Station.

I forgot about Van Hagar. lol

I had a weird thought, ya'll might think I'm crazy, but here it is. What you ya'll think if Christina Aguilera, Jessica Simpson and Britney Spears formed their own supergoup?

I'm pretty sure you need talent to form one of these groups....Maybe they could form a groupie?

This might work if Christina was the only one singing.

Camp Freddy. Never recorded anything, was just a loose bunch of musicians playing the clubs in LA.

Warren Zevon (you know "Werewolves of London" I hope) covering P's "Raspberry Beret" with members of REM... went by Hindu Love Gods. Check it out if you haven't heard it.

Nile Rodgers, Robert Plant, Jimmy Page, Jeff Beck were THE HONEYDRIPPERS. Had two hit singles "Sea Of Love" and "Rockin' At Midnight".

"I Care About You" was a 'supergroup' of Babyface, Ki-Ci, JoJo, Kevon Edmonds and Melvin Edmonds and they wer called MILESTONE

Patti LaBelle, Gladys Knight and Dionne Warwick formed a sistergirl diva group called

SISTERS IN THE NAME OF LOVE, they did a tv special. They were supposed have been joined by Aretha Franklin, and they were gonna tour, but, things fell apart.

They made 2 albums, but Roy Orbison (aka Lefty Wilbury) died after the 1st one, so the 2nd album was a quartet.

It'll never work. Christina's ego is too damn big for it.

Remember The Girls From Moulin Rouge?!? There were borderline tensions between Christina & Pink, despite the fact that both women co-existed with Mya & Lil'Kim very well. Pink mention Christina's ego as the supergroup's drawback.

No, you were not the only fan. I saw them in concert 3 times and they were great. STP songs never sounded so good, Slash's solos took them to another level.

When I think of the term SUPERGROUP, I think of EC. cool He was in several (Bluesbreakers, BonnienDelaney variations, DnD, the Plastic Ono Band, etc) and probably the most successful of all, Cream.

This is the Dirty Mac...a one off thing that was for the Rolling Stones Rock and Roll Circus done on Dec 11-12, 1968. They were killer that night too.

L-R is EC (lead), John Lennon (rhythm), Keith Richard(s) (bass), and Mitch Mitchell (drums)

Cream: EC (lead...from The Yardbirds and The Blues Breakers) and Ginger Baker and Jack Bruce of Graham Bond Organisation and The BluesBreakers

Then there was Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young
