Willow Smith Talks about the pressure of Fame
Willow Smith has been so busy hitting the airwaves, flying around the world, and doing interviews that attending school has been put on the backburner... for now. The pint sized sensation whose Billboard hit "Whip My Hair" gained her popularity, admits that, although she is living out her dream, she is falling behind in school.

WA WA WA WA WA Daddy banks $20 per movie. My Mommy's also a successful actress. My brother just had a #1 at the box office with Jackie Chan. I live in a big mansion in the Hollywood Hills. I don't have to worry about ever struggling like the 'normal' people.
My life is so sucky. | |

Education first. Will and Jada need to get their priorities straight. "Lack of home training crosses all boundaries."

Have a heart, this is sad:
And doesn't sound voluntary.

True. It's up to her parents to educate her on the price of fame. Don't laugh at my funk
This funk is a serious joint

This is getting ridiculous.

so don't be famous. fuck off.

Yep. And many Orger's voiced similar concerns in the Willow thread here a couple months back. Guess it's at least somewhat true. Sad. Funk Is It's Own Reward

Well what else to look at but the sources? Will & Jada?

Education and a normal life first. As was mentioned by somebody else, unless her parents are complete assholes (and I gather they aren't) she won't need money. So become a person, figure out who you are, THEN do the famous thing. Sounds like she may be figuring that out for herself.
I don't actually think Will or Jada forced her into this, though. Doesn't Will have at least one child who plays football and goes to school like normal kids? I'm not sure if they have others together, but I thought maybe one more besides Jaden and Willow. Anyway, I wonder if this is more of a "if you want this you have to do it all the way and see how hard it is" kind of lesson?

True, Trey's doing his own thing. If Jaden and Willow do want to be entertainers, they better learn how to deal with it. Soon they're gonna be old enough to handle their own responsibilities.

Oh god do we really have quotes from a fucking 10 year old, or whatever she is, already on my nerves, look lets be real, this has got washed up at 15 written all over it, as soon as the "cuteness" wears off, its over, then we will have all the other BS that comes with that crap, can we get some music from someone thats at least old enough to drink or vote. Maybe. Maybe not. I would tend to be skeptical of how this interview was chopped or skewed to give a certain slant. The fact that the author/editor inserted the British/EU maths when this is clearly a black American child...shows me that they'd be willing to insert anything into the child's mout that she didn't say 100%...maybe for clarity's sake...or...maybe not.

Why does the Org insist on making threads about entertainers they don't like?

go have a look at Will & Jada's interview on... I think it was Oprah earlier this year? From the clips I heard, it sounds very much like they're shoving their children out there.

She's only a fuckin' kid, ya'll UGH.

so she should be at home being a kid. this is an entirely unnecessary career if it's getting in the way of being a kid.

Didn't we have that same discussion before though? The ship has already sailed on that one, and her parents are the ones who should be talked about with such venom(if you guys feel the need to vent), not her.

i do agree with the insertion of words into Willow's mouth, as no American child says "maths" however, no matter how much a child wants something or thinks they want something, it is your job as a parent to say no if it is not in the best interest of the child. clearly, Will and Jada think it is in their kid's best interest to make her a star. I disagree, but she is not my child Trey has a normal life most likely because Sheree, his mother insists on it and she can do so as she is that kid's mom. Will is very involved, but most likely what she says goes. Also, I don't believe Trey or his mama fuck around with Scientology as do Will and Jada. Also, Jaden and Willow have never set foot in a normal school from what I can tell. They have always been homeschooled, something else I don't agree with, but hey, the world does not revolve around me or my parenting ideas, so there you have it. I'm not quite sure how 2 talk any of these comments from Willow.

What is she wearing in that picture on the original post? Everyone today wears the ugliest, cartooniest clothes that don't match at all. But she's young so she can get away with it I guess. "Keep in mind that I'm an artist...and I'm sensitive about my shit."--E. Badu

you better have some kids.
I think script is spot on. The entertainment business is ruthless and very unsympathetic. The tragic lives of MOST child entertainers to me would be a cautionary tale. What's the rush? Why not give this beautiful little girl options at a well rounded life? Money isn't everything, money can't teach you how to manage a life. What if this doesn't work out? Then what? What if this cute little girl who's age, cuteness and her lineage is the draw, doesn't have the talent to sustain a career? Let me say something else, about small children especially little girls; what are the chances she would ever speak up and said she wanted out? Still, people parenting philosophies do vary and a good % of children evolve to become self sustaining functioning adults. It takes all kinds.

Thank you ms Trina. That is high praise coming from you! Well, in a way, I am thrilled that other little black girls have a role model to look up to along with the Obama girls, but still, I don't believe in kids being in showbiz in general, even if they do have a dad who is a titan in the biz and can protect her from most shit. The problem, one of many, is that Willow started at the top. It's a long way down. "Lack of home training crosses all boundaries."
