They did some songs that you would think would be about women...and then they weren't. lol

Weird lol

Martha My Dear is about Paul's sheepdog (like the O'Jay's Brandy, which was also about a dog). Got To Get You Into My Life was about drugs.

You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

Oh yeah, I knew about the O'Jays. Back in the day, it took me awhile to figure that out lol

Hmm didn't seem like too many, I'm thinking Tate's friends that she had made during that period were there. No one famous of course. Probably a good 7 or so I don't know. Whoever attended got killed that night.

Hmm... seems kinda strange, that these 3 claim to have been invited.. I read a book about that once... it wasn't really a party... just Tate, her hairstylist and a befriended couple, who was staying at that place for a while. And someone unrelated, who just had the bad luck visiting the property manager at that night.

Why would that sound strange if they were friends, or friends of friends?

Think of all the people you know in your own life that you've casually joined for dinner, or if they have friends doing something and they say "you're welcome to pop by too". Quincy Jones knows everyone under the sun from Hollywood bit players to middle eastern royalty; it doesn't seem so much of a stretch that he would have known someone like Tate. She was the beautiful girlfriend of one of the powerful and enigmatic directors of our time, and he's been frequenting those circles for ages.

But the thing is he wasn't really friends with her, at least according to what he says in his book. Listen, I'm not saying it's impossible... how could I? I'm just saying, that to me, it seems unlikely that he should have been there, since it wasn't a party and he doesn't exactly fit into that particular crowd of people, which was there that fateful night! And since he is talking about it in his book and apparently is dedicating a couple of pages to it, it sounds like an attention grab to me! "Hey, I was supposed to be one of the victims of one of the most horrendous and notorious killing rampages ever happening in celebrity Hollywood, but I got lucky!". That's all! Of course it could be true, that, like he said, the hairstylist invited him, but since it was a really small group and the hairstylist probably was invited himself, I'm taking it with a grain of salt, that he in turn would invite Jones just on the night the killings went down.
