The use of the word "monster" in song titles

I'm really tired of this word. Really really tired.

Since Gaga started using that word, every album released since then just HAD to have a song whose title included this word. First Gaga, then comes Ne-Yo round with his "She's A Monster", then there was Kanye with (of course, what else?) "Monster", and now the "new" MJ album includes a song of the same title, too. So that's it? No creativity anymore? At all?

Just to let you know, the song "Monster" on "MJ's" album is not even him singing it. neutral

But yea, the word Monster is being used way too much. Lack of creativity?

I'm not too concerned with creativity in song title, album title, or even in an album cover. I'm more into the creativity in the music itself. They lyrics also. However, if I like a song, I like it! My liking it isn't based too much on the creative aspects of what I'm hearing. Some songs can sound too plain or too boring, so I guess some creativity plays a part in my liking it or not though.

You know i've recently been thinking the samething. Since Gaga, everyone has a song out called Monster. What is that about??

You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

You had it right the first time.

How many people have said swag or swagger in a song in the last few years? And a majority of ALL songs are still about some part of a relationship (love, fight, sex, breakup) or partying. Very little gets within smelling distance of original.

Swag is probably the CORNIEST word ever used in a song. When older artists sang it, it makes it even more corny. And "Monster"... JESUS, all these "MONSTER" songs... it was cool when "The Monster Mash" came out but when you try to put that into popular music (non-holiday stuff), it becomes ridiculous.

I hate that too!

You know what I hate lately? How everyone repeats things in 3s or 4s because they are too stupid to come up with any other lyrics to fill the space.

Taio Cruz - Wearing all my favorite "brands, brands, brands"

Usher - Honey got a booty like "pow, pow, pow"

There are too many to count!! Sometimes they'll only say it once but then it will echo another 2 or 3 times. neutral Sooo generic!
