Joe Tex is nominated again fot eh4th time for entry in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. But, I've been thinking, eould he have been in years ago had he not passed away at an early age?

Think about it, all of his contempraies are in the Rock Hall. Even artist he was at a time bigger than, or had more and higher charting hits are in. Those soul revival tours were just getting of the ground right after he died in the mid-80s and had he lived, he'd have been part of those tours and his name would be more talked about for years to come. The Hip-Hopers didn't really get a chance to know him and use his work, ect.

And, speaking of Hip-Hop, he was known as the first raooer, I could see him on some tunes with rappers in the late 80s.

You got of course the big dogs like his best friend James Brown (lol), Ray Charles, Marvin Gaye, Sam Cooke, Otis Redding, ect than you got the guys right up his alley like Solomon Burke, Ben E. King, Wilson Pickett, Sam and Dave, Bobby Womack, hell even Percy Sledge is in the Hall of Fame.

Who knows? There were some deceased soul stars that got theirs shortly after their deaths (Jackie, Marvin, Big Joe Turner, etc).

Rock Hall isa joke like the Grammy's. You have people voting who really don't know no more about music than the averge Joe. In fact, I could see you and other org members doing a better job.
