[img:$uid]http://i54.tinypic.com/29m1t37.jpg[/img:$uid]

December 1, 2010

Former Destiny's Child singer Kelly Rowland's financial woes have leaked online showing her owing nearly $100,000 to the Internal Revenue Service.

Details regarding the singer's debt were publicly unveiled over the weekend.

Recently, Rowland was spotted at a celebration for fellow R&B singer Ne-Yo. As of late, she has also been heard recording new music with rapper Nelly. According to published reports, the IRS has filed a lien with the New York City Register against the singer.

Many celebs don't keep track of their finances, they hire accountants, managers, or other people. The thing with this is that they aren't always trustworthy. This is what happened with Billy Joel, Sting, Michael Jackson, Willie Nelson, etc.

You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

Its not that so much, i mean in the US she is nothing but Beyonce's "girl", but overseas she has got respect and play and sells well over there, but here she doesnt fit the mold, she doesnt have universal appeal like Bey or Rih. BUT god damn pay your fucking taxes, i mean why cant anyone hire properly? I mean these artists need to stop getting people that are either friends or relatives, or just dont know what they are doing. To me if you are making over 250,000 and u arent paying any taxes at all, something is wrong, shit i barely wake 40,000 and i pay state taxes all the time at the end of the year, so these cats need to go fucking buy turbo tax and write the check and stop with the hiring of deadbeats.

But see that's the problem. Yeah we already know that the celebs hire folks to handle business that THEY THEMSELVES should be handling and keeping up with. It's just pure laziness and egotism. Some are just too lazy to look after their finances (or to look after the people they hire to do their finances) or they feel that they are so important that it's not their job to keep up with their own finances. rolleyes That's when you fall into situations like this.

Or I guess it could just be the case of some people just not knowing how to add, subtract and calculate percentages. You have average people who don't even handle their finances correctly..for instance dropping $300 on a Coach purse but not making the rent and don't have any food in the house. Or driving around in a $70K BMW with a $800 monthly car payment but your lights are off in your apartment. rolleyes Crazy retarded.

I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

Maybe she shouldn't. Bey's ass might ask poppa Knowles for advice and tell Bey to charge Kelly interest on the amount borrowed.

Yes, More Celebrity Tax D... IRS $100K

I'm actually getting tired of writing about celebrities owing the IRS. I can't keep caught up. Inexplicably, the latest offender to enter my radar is Kelly Rowland.

She was a member of Destiny's Child, the top-selling girl group of all-time. You'd think she'd have the cash and the resources to pay the IRS...

The Background: As a member of Destiny's Child Kelly Rowland had a share of the profits from four studio albums that sold over 40 million records worldwide, another 50 million including their solo album sales before the group split up.

The Tax Debt: The Detroit News revealed Kelly Rowland owes the IRS $98,634 in back taxes, prompting the government to file a lien against her lavish oceanfront property in Miami, Florida.

The Irony: Kelly Rowland once portrayed a Motown Legend Martha Reeves, who also current has some Tax Scandals of her own to resolve.

The Moral: You know the deal by now, the IRS doesn't make exceptions. Rich or poor, famous or not, you have to pay your taxes or else.

What's he got to do with her not paying the taxes on what she did make?

Isn't her tax debt going as far back as 2006 when she was still under Mathew's management? Weren't all those DC members being handled by the same accounting firm? That's what I recollect as the reason why the original members left. The money wasn't right and it was Knowles fault. I don't think any of these chicks save for Bey Bey have their finances in order. Maybe Latoya but I've heard she's having issues as well.

Bill Cosby suggested that idea, and he handles his own finances, according to him nod

Stop playin'! Most of ya'll would hire other folks to handle taxes, etc. without even blinking an eye, if you were in this position. Regardless of how many legendary hollywood horror stories we hear, there's always that group of people saying, "that won't happen to me".

It still makes no damn sense. You would think these celebs would check their accounts daily and read whatever it is they sign their name to? How hard can it be? You make 3 million one year; you buy property, you buy clothes, you travel, you donate to a charity and you pay the salaries of your staff. If the numbers don't add up then somebody gets fired and/or sued.

See, these folks don't mind the small change, they let other people have access to their lines of credit and other bank accounts, they get gifts that the gift giver will report on their tax return. Little shit like that will mess you up.

If they had time to do that, they wouldn't need to hire accounting firms and managers to do it. Do you really think that Bill Gates or Donald Trump spend time every day checking all of their accounts? They would get nothing else done. But just because someone hires a firm, doesn't mean the firm is honest. It's like any other company. Look at Enron, the employees (who aren't celebs) assumed some of their money were going into their 401K retirement funds or stocks. People get scammed everyday, why should you expect famous or rich people to be immune from it?

In this day and age, not many people can find the time to keep regular track of their accounting.

I'd guess it's even more difficult if you're on the road alot!

Hell, I have my own business and I stay as far the fuck away from the accounting as possible. It's just too consuming when my job is to be creative!

I check my accounts out a couple of times a year, so I wouldn't expect someone like Kelly to keep track of everything. You just gotta have an accounts person you trust and everything rolls on like it should.

She's obviously had either a dumb ass or a scammer involved in her accounting. I feel sorry for her.

Music, sweet music, I wish I could caress and...kiss, kiss...
