Is this the same episode I saw a couple weeks ago when Betty Wright was singing "Gimme Back My Man"? If so, that song was on her 1973 album. "It's not nice to fuck with K.B.! All you haters will see!" - Kitbradley

Wilson Pickett was nasty. He recorded a new album in the early 90's and had a song on it called What's Up Under That Dress? I read in a magazine that he performed that song while out on tour with the new album and women would throw their panties on stage at Mr. Pickett. Don't laugh at my funk

What's Up Under that dress? That sounds like some song from the 40s and he was to old to have panties thrown at him. "Lack of home training crosses all boundaries."

I researched it earlier. Apparently the album was released in Sept, 1999 on the album It's Harder Now. The song What's Under That Dress sounded like a typical 1960's Pickett song modernized with 1990's drum programming. It was a reason they called him Wicked Wilson Pickett. Don't laugh at my funk

I checked the episode's date, it was May 1976. Betty Wright performed her then-hit "Slip and Do It". I know Wilson was on a 1971 episode (or was it 1972?) but Betty didn't get on the show until 1974 so the time they appeared together was definitely '76. This was when they were using the "Soul Train '75" theme (the one that sounded like a cousin of the MFSB song they used for the show the previous three seasons). [Edited 12/12/10 9:23am]
