See, this is the problem with modern music, R&B/Hip-Hop in particualar. Nothing against Nicki, because she's doing her thing, but when every new song by an artist comes with the subtitle "Featuring Nicki Minaj," then it becomes tired and worn out. I long for the days when an artist released an album and the artist was the only one featured--no cameos from Nicki Minaj, Lil' Wayne, Ludacris, Drake, what have you. After a while it just gets played out. I do like the album cover, though.

Having Nicki Minaj appear as a guest rapper was the likely real reason for the first single to fail. Ubiquitousness can become a liability once the public feels oversaturated by her, Drake and Lil Wayne.

She had to waste a song with Minaj to go with that album cover? If she was going the funk route I wouldn't mind the cover so I'll pass. bored2

Well its the same issue with the new Chrisette Michelle, having a track with Rick Ross, i mean, ok, hes the "man" right now to get that hip hop guest shot from, but can someone just not use the in person? No Keyshia with Nicki, i mean its not artistic, its strictly to bring more light on the album. But look at that December 21st date, part 2 of LABEL DUMPING, keri hilson is part 1

I'll skip both albums because of that. I don't even think it's fair to call Nicki and Rick hip-hop. If so they're truly bad examples of it.

Yeah i have never been a fan of these Collabo's, i thought it and it should have ended in the 90's where it was born, there was nothing worse then the blending of rap and rb, death of the genre right there. I mean do we see Rock and Jazz Collabos? why do we need this constant mess.

Ugh Mariah Carey and Puffy I partially blame for starting that mess. lol Just because that was cool didn't mean anyone should do it. There were some cool collabos back in the '90s though like the Brandy remix with MC Lyte, Yo-Yo and Queen Latifah for instance.

There were some in the 1970's when fusion jazz was in.

You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

I beg to differ, i do like the joint chrisette michele w/rick ross and i'm not that big of a fan. I have to go on the merits of her talent and i think she is one hell of an artist. I love the song chrisette has with talib & Black Thought, other than that her cd is a solid joint really it is IMO. Keyshia Cole w/nicki minaj not so much......

Keyshia is one of the very few r&b acts whose music I really enjoy. I loved all her albums especially the last one. I hope this new album will be just as good.
