November 27, 2010

Keri Hilson has scored the cover of this month's Vibe magazine. On the cover, Keri dons a skintight black corset along with several chunky silver necklaces with a military style black leather hat.

The appearance comes in support of Keri's new album No Boys Allowed, which is due out December 21.

Along with her appearance on the cover of this month's Vibe, Keri is also a featured artist on Vibe.com. On the site, the 27-year-old opens up about her top fashion tips, what she's learned from working with artists like Kanye West and Trey Songz and her favorite 10 lines in R&B songs.

No Boys Allowed is Keri's second album and follows her 2009 release In A Perfect World . . . While speaking with theboombox.com, Keri revealed that she hits a more personal note on the new album.

"My songs come from very personal places and it puts me in a very vulnerable state to where, while I'm writing, I'm like, 'Do I really want the world to know this? Is this gonna cause me trouble with this person? Are they gonna know that this song is about them?' For me, there was a little stress in creating this album because I dug a little deeper than I did on my first album, [In a Perfect World...]. I was able to talk about the truth about certain things that I am dealing with," she explains.

A december 21st album release for those of you who know releases around the holidays work and for labels, anything in december especially the week before or after xmas is called "dumping" by the label, basically the label wants what it cant get from it, but knows it has no overall chance.

I had no idea. Similarly, February is seen as the month in which the movie studios dump the movies that they are less than proud of, hoping that they garner no attention.
