The Ink Spots ~ If I Didn't Care

You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

Actually, watching this clip; I'm feeling this song stronger than I ever had. No wonder this song was such a hit for them, never noticed how beautiful it was.

I like how they used the word "thrill" back then. Though it still has the same meaning, they seemed to use it in a slightly different context back then. Funny how our usage of words changes over time, from generation to generation.

I was also noticing how this song could never be remade for today. Today, they would over-produce it, and destroy it. The magic of this song relates to THAT time.

And as many times as I've heard this song through the years, and have laughed at Fred's rendition of it, tonight is the first time I've really paid close attention to it, and I have fallen head over heals for this song. The Ink Spots have just turned me out tonight (...how many years after they recorded this song?).

Imagine if we expressed love for each other they way they were doing back then? touched
