Live instruments could do him wonders. He's a phenomenal vocalist and has proved this in his live performances posted above but the fact that he uses synth horns, drums is holding him back
I agree 1000%. Imagine if he had a full orchestra on "When A Woman Loves." That would be just MINDBLOWING.
I agree. Live instruments would make that song sound way better. All the studio horns, drums and such drown out his vocals and kinda takes away from the old school feel he was going for.
Is it just me I don't think he's all that. Saw him on Kimmel recently and didn't think he was that good. I guess I'm not a fan. and no I am not judging him from peeing on ladies, just not feeling him is all. Usher on the other hand is fantastic all around. R. Kelly? Sam Cooke I think NOT.

I guess you're not a fan of Usher, oh well I respect that, just like you should repect my opinion. To me when you throw around the name Sam Cooke you better live up to it.
LOL, nowhere close to Sam Cookes or Jackie Wilson GREATNESS. I don't mean to crap on this thread or RK , sorry just my opinion that is shared by others not just me. Carry on...
No one's saying he's the next them. Sam Cooke is Sam Cooke, Jackie is Jackie and R. Kelly is R. Kelly. Usher is nothing but a MJ wannabe. You had the nerve to even compare him to R. Kelly, lmao. Move along...

Drag him!!!
Ain't nobody talking to you. Yes I think Usher is better vocally and dancewise very good. Ne-Yo is a Jackson copycat.

Then you must be deaf. Usher isn't a good R&B singer. He fully depends on rehashing MJ dance moves to give a good performance and he could never stand in one place and give a great vocal performance like R. Kelly. Chile, just look at the thread on top of this page Usher and Neyo are both MJ copycats.
I agree in the beginning he did copy MJ, not anymore. He does his own stuff now. MJ copied alot of dance moves from Fred Astaire, Gene Kelly etc. I also think Usher has a unique voice, it's not the best, but it ain't bad either.

Are you high? In the beginning of his career he copied R. Kelly and Bobby Brown then he started doing the whole MJ thing. MJ didn't copy a lot of his moves from those men. He was INFLUENCED by them and had his own style at the same time. There's a difference between MJ and what Usher' calls his "influence". Usher doesn't have a unique voice hence why he made the smart decision to hide behind dance moves and flashy stage props.
and look how successful he is, more so than R. Kelly. Everybody has a gimmick, right? Nope not high.
Eh he's not more successful than R. Kelly at all, lol. Yes, those that have gimmicks need to cover up for their lack in other talents which Usher does. Just imagine when he gets old...he's not gonna be around. He'll be known as the guy that had nice abs and did MJ moves.
I bet you think Bruno Mars sucks too, eh? I don't really follow Usher like you do, but I do think his performances on the AMA were good. Give me stats on how R. Kelly has sold more CD's than Usher? He had his time now it's Ushers turn, bah hahaha. Now lets see the sales on his Love Letter CD, then we can talk.
Oh you think he's good too? Lawd. Now I see who I'm dealing with... I don't follow Usher, lol. I'm sure his AMA performance was trash just like the VMA one. Idk how many albums R. Kelly sold but he has 12 platnium albums and he wrote hits for others which Usher has failed to do. lolll, Idc for his sales. I just know that he has had more success than Usher.
Oh you think he's good too? Lawd. Now I see who I'm dealing with...
Just what I though you'd say. Enjoy R. Kelly man if that's what you like. I'll stick to Sam Cooke, Jackie Wilson, OV Wright, Otis, Luther, Howard Hewett, etc. True R&B Singers.

Do you sincerely think Bruno mars is good? Bless your heart.

Please, Usher has his own style of dancing, he's influenced by Mike, like Mike himself was influenced by James Brown .... Same goes for Chris Brown, Im not saying one is better than the other but I honestly would rather dance like Usher than MJ.
Now on the vocal side I agree with you, Usher is a verry good studio singer but live, naaawww he needs to work on that.

Agree with you. Dancing and singing is very difficult, even for Micheal. Bruno is Ok, not the best, but not the worse out there.
