I don't know why his family is even allowing him to even have interviews but you're right he seemed out of it when I saw him being interviewed, first for the Ones special, and then for Thriller 25. He kinda reminded me of Marlon Brando in his twilight years. Sad. The man's probably been senile for years and when people make comments, he automatically goes into the defense saying stupid shit. Don't mean I'll feel sorry unless I read a report that he's ill but hey you make your bed now lie in it. shrug

If it was just Robin Thicke and the girl on the end it would have been alright.

Now ain't that hilarious!?! People (including me) gave him a field day on Twitter over "Secret Garden '10" and "We Are the World 25". lol He tried to do the same thing then (QuincyDelightJones I believe is his Twitter moniker).

Face it, Mr. Jones, your career's over. wave Same with T-Pussy. dancing jig

Robin? You can do better than that. lol

Really? glad you served him!

Wasn't Quincy's CD supposed to be released a while back? Wasn't there a single release this past summethat people weren't responding to? I guess that's the reason why the release date has been pushed back?

Yep,it was a remake of the Brothers Johnson classic "Strawberry Letter #23" with vocals by Akon disbelief It was just as lousy as this "P.Y.T" remake.

For all the ppl that hate mr for ruining pyt just stop listening to my sh*t. But if Quincy jones tell you he want you to do something, no matter how much shot you know ur gonna get from the dumb asses in the world, you god damn do it. The f*cked up thing is everybody being so kind to mj after he’s gone, but how can you wish a man to rest in peace when you never gave him peace in a life time? I had the pleasure of meeting MJ and when I left his house I got a call from his lawyer telling mr that MJ wanted me to remake that song. So everybody that’s being overly disrespectful, you don’t have to like me at all, but you also can keep that bullshPt to yourself. Like I said I’m making it my job to stay positive on twitter but this is why the image of my ppl is so f*cked up cuz we all are to envious and jealous of each other to get passed anything. In conclusion, if you don’t like what I do then stop listening to it, if somebody tells you that my sh*t is wak, why would you go and try to find it? Just stay off my timeline and my d*ck and get YO sh*t together, obviously I’m str8 Read more: Quincy Jones & T-Pain Responds To Critics of PYT Remake | Necole Bitchie.com

This has been going on for a while. Some may disagree, but I thought his remake of I'll Be Good To You with Ray Charles & Chaka was pretty bad. The vocals were good, but the backing track was so plastic it really did not work with Ray's vocals, particularly.

Good point. lol I loved Ray and Chaka on the song but yeah after hearing the original the remix's production undermines it.

nod And then he tried to pussyfoot his way around it saying he didn't exactly produced it. Oh well. lol He was still involved with it and it is HIS album so he has as much fault as the "producers" behind it.

I listened to the first few seconds. Painful!

There is a reason why Jackson's music (in particular, the "Thriller" album) was spoke to so many music fans and yet was hip and cool for it's time. This is not!

Quincy Jones Takes On "Haters" Over "P.Y.T." Remake

November 4, 2010

Quincy Jones, is taking aim at those who have a problem with the reworked record.

“Today with Facebook and Twitter and everything, I have never seen so many haters in my life,” the 77-year-old legend exclusively tells Rap-Up.com. “But it’s people sitting in their basements with their pants on the ground, just being haters. I don’t get it, man. That means they don’t have a life.”

“The freedom in music is do what you want to do,” he shares. “I don’t think anybody should sit there and say you shouldn’t do that or you shouldn’t do this. That’s not up to me to say.”

While T-Pain said that he recorded the song at Mr. Jones’ request, Quincy offers a different take. “They volunteered. I didn’t choose them. I didn’t produce this,” he says. “Six years ago, Timbaland came to me with one of his assistants in South Beach and said, ‘We’d like to do a hip-hop tribute to all your old songs.’ I said, ‘Great, man. That’s a very big honor ’cause I’ve worked with a lot of the hip-hoppers anyway and have always been behind them.’”

Jones took a back seat when it came to putting together the project. “I just sat down with guys that were my friends and they called and asked me questions and so forth. I’m there for them, but I said use your own voice, but make it better than the one we did.”
