No.....that's the only word that I can think of when I heard it...right after the beat from "Push it" comes on...it's just "No" from there on.... I hope that the other song is better...and what made Salt change her mind about rapping anyway?..I guess pepa talked her into it..she wasn't having it on their reality show...

100% more sex appeal than anyone half their age especially that Nicki Minaj lunatic "We went where our music was appreciated, and that was everywhere but the USA, we knew we had fans, but there is only so much of the world you can play at once" Magne F

EH!
Lemme stop you right there.
I know we're probably about the same age but I got some news for you, not even SNP can be credited as being the "first ladies", these girls were:
[img:$uid]http://tinypic.com/fw7m8y.jpg[/img:$uid] The Sequence
(Though they were also singing R&B, they also had several rap hits like "Funk You Up", that song was later covered by Dr. Dre. )
Of course when the "new school rap" of Run DMC and them came around, that's when Salt 'N' Pepa (originally Super Nature) came into the picture lol [Edited 10/28/10 18:01pm]

I learning. So feel free to TEACH me, anytime!
While I do recognize Angie Stone, in that picture, my familiarity with her, comes from her connection with Prince.
I did a Youtube search and there is nothing on there from that group The Sequence. So by all means, enlighten me.
Help me find out why they deserve the title over Salt N Pepa.
Until then...
Shoop! Shoop! Shoop!

The Sequence's most famous song is "Funk You Up" but for some reason it's blocked on YouTube. I can give you something via orgNotes lol

Well duh. I would know a little bit about that. You didn't have to school on that.
And you're welcome. | |

YET to be frank I can't compare "Never Buy Texas from a Cowboy" to "Funk You Up" lol the Brides sang all through the track.

Really?
"My Granny had a sayin' Without humps, there would be no gettin' over You pay for what you get... And hardly ever get....what you pay for.
Life's full of ups and downs You got to find your own high ground.
Mother wit is your connection... Use it for your protection!"
Honeydip...that was RAP! I knew from the start that I loved you with all my heart.

Rap in the old school sense that they were talkin' lol I'll have to listen to it again but I didn't make a hip-hop connection with it lol
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
Yep the difference here, the Brides always did this. But it wasn't "rap/hip-hop". It's like what Isaac Hayes and Millie Jackson were doing back then.
The Sequence were more like this:
