Still can't decide which version is better, this one or the original. The most beautiful thing Curtis ever wrote.

Claudine has been playing on Encore ( I think) for the past two months. The movie with that gorgeous soundtrack, has held up for sure.

I have to be in the Gladys Knight camp. I don't know if it's because that's the version I first heard, but even after listening to the others, it still comes out on top for me! Never trust anything spoken in the presence of an erection.

Same goes for "Mr Welfare Man" (my fave from Claudine) and "To Be Invisible"
He's like a private eye for the FBI, he's just as devious as the Ku Klux Klan... She has robes and she has monkeys, lazy diamond studded flunkies....

I love mostly anything that Gladys sings, but I also feel the same way about Curtis so I can't really pick between them.
there's also Lauryn Hill's version, I love that one to bits too: http://www.youtube.com/wa...eErfwlIgPg "what's that book where they're all behind the wardrobe?"
