"One More Chance" - Randy vs Janet I friggin love this song. I like Randy's version the best. He definitely stepped up. I remember a story about how he was inspired to write this song after an almost fatal motorcycle accident.

As much as I hate to admit, Randy's version was the best thing that was on the Victory LP...hands down. I never really paid much attention to Janet's version though. Check me out and add me on:

Janet.
I bought the Victory album the week it came out and never paid much attention to the original until Janet's remake almost ten years later.

I love both versions but I gotta go with Randy's version "We may deify or demonize them but not ignore them. And we call them genius, because they are the people who change the world."

Bought VICTORY for "STATE OF SHOCK"...& ended up loving "ONE MORE CHANCE"," BODY","BE NOT ALWAYS" & "WAIT". As for which version...Randy's ALL THE WAY. I have it on my iPod & it brings a smile to my face when it comes on.I always thought it would be a single/ smash...was there a video for it?? If U came 2 get your 'Purple Rain' on...U'RE IN THE WRONG HOUSE!!!!!!

A million times Janet. Sometimes, it's my favorite ballad performance by her. Just listened to it tonight and it gets regular play in this house.

Janet's version was the first one I knew, and I loved it!
Randy's version is pretty good too (I'm not THAT big on The Jacksons, but I dig this song), but Janet takes the cake for me. Feel free to join in the Prince Album Poll 2018! Let'a celebrate his legacy by counting down the most beloved Prince albums, as decided by you!

Randy penned a gem for him and his brothers. I like their version but I like Janet's a tad bit better.

Randy Jacksons version is better in my opinion..there is just more....80's production..his vocals are a tad more emotional than Janet's...the music is in my opinion more dramatic. The keys and and bass grasp my ear. Straight Jacket Funk Affair

Randy's version mainly as that's the one I knew first.
Wait is by far the best thing on the Victory album though.

This is interesting...
Randy's version has way more emotion. I wonder if Janet covered the tune to help him out financially??

I think both versions are great. Randy's vocals are quite good in it, but overall I have to give it to Janet. I've always loved her version. "And When The Groove Is Dead And Gone, You Know That Love Survives, So We Can Rock Forever" RIP MJ

Randy's. I love Jam/Lewis and like Janet but the production is so warm on the original (probably the fairlight synths). It's lovely sounding. Vocally Janet is fine but again I give the dge to Randy. I find the drum beat on Janets version abit irritating aswell.

Janet's. I heard hers first, years ago. It reminds me of driving along near the beach on a summer day with the top down. "Get up off that grey line"

Randy's version has that 80s Yacht Rock feel to it
