Hip Hop Super Couple Reportedly 'Very, Very Excited' About Pregnancy

Beyonce Knowles and Jay-Z better make room for a cradle in their home of hip hop royalty as the couple is expecting its first child, Us Weekly reported today.

Beyonce, 29, reportedly wanted to wait to have children and was surprised, but delighted by the news.

"B was shocked," a source close to the singer told Us Weekly. "She loves kids, but she wasn't ready to be a mother just yet."

Another source told Us the singer sees the baby as "a gift from God and she's so happy."

Rebecca Bienstock, a reporter for Us Weekly, told ABC News Beyonce is in her first trimester and the couple is "very, very excited" about the pregnancy. Jay-Z, 40, has reportedly wanted kids for some time.

Celebrity friends have already been offering their well wishes, Bienstock said.

Beyonce's sister, Solange, told Us Weekly, "She's got the most beautiful heart... She'll be a great mom."

Beyonce Knowles and Jay-Z, real name Shawn Carter, were married in a secret ceremony in New York in 2008.

A call to Beyonce's rep by ABC News wasn't immediately returned.

I need to see an official confirmation from her or Jay-Z. Bey has said plenty of times that she's more career focused and less focused on settling down and starting a family right now.

And is it just a coincidence that this "report" happens to come soon after Alicia Keyes gives birth and the media buzz surrounding Mariah's rumored pregnancy? Wouldnt be surprised if this is just a publicity stunt planted by Bey's people to keep her name out in the public.

IF it's true, probably not. Madonna didn't. They've got the money to have multiple nannies, tutors, and security people with them at all times. Don't see why they'd need to slow down at all.
