Try is a BRILLIANT song, as is Forca. In fact, the entire album those songs are on (Folklore) is a all-time favorite of mine.

"Powerless" is a nice song (it used to play on the Detroit/Canadian channel). I like her music but never bought anything other than "Loose" so I look forward to this contractual album.

Does annoy me when an artist has a "Greatest Hits" album out so early into their career...what's the point, and how is it justified?

She's basically had three main stream albums and one spanish language one. So its going to be the first three albums minus the filler....

What happened to the days when an artist would be 8 or 10 albums into a career before a "Greatest Hits" package was released? Has Furtado had enough "hits" to warrant a full album?

I'd imagine this sort of thing is often chalked up to contractual obligiation. If a certain number of releases is expected in a given span of time, a greatest hits package is an easy way to knock out one of those.

Mainly those days are gone because now there is such a gap between albums, i mean Elton John had a best of barely 5-6 years into his career, but he had almost 10 albums at that point.

In the UK I don't think she's had that many hits to warrant a greatest hits album of 12 killer tracks or so.

I've always seen the idea of Greatest Hits package as a reason to revisit classic material from earlier in an artists career. Alot of Nelly's big songs aren't that old, and are thus still fresh in the memory....hardly ripe for revisiting.

I can't shout too much (and I'm a Nelly fan so its not a dig at her) Madonna did a similar thing with her Immaculate Collection (7-8 albums to that point, including soundtracks and collections), couple of new songs to release (Rescue Me & Justify My Love) so bung them on a Greatest Hits package of songs that weren't that old. I just think Nelly would have been better of keeping this back 5 or 10 years and get a couple more albums and hits under her belt.

As others have said, its probably a contractual thing...and artists always shove these collections out to cash in on the pre-Xmas rush!

She does: 9 top-20 UK singles (5 top-5) and 3 other top-10 hits as a guest artist.

No, Nelly uniformly sucks ass. nod

"I'm Like a Bird" and "Turn off the Light" are two of her worst offenders, IMO.

I couldn't agree more. Tim did a great job using her unique tone to add some flavor to this track. They also used her well on the "Get Your Freak On" remix too. Cool song thanks for posting Cinnie! I forgot about that joint. cool
