Jermaine just HAS to be involved in everything Jackson-related, doesn't he?

This is why he will never be taken seriously. His whole goal is to ride on anything Jackson as long as he lets people know he's still around. neutral

So true. I've said it a million times. His ass needs 2 be out touring and doing his OWN MUSIC! He had a big catalog and it is a good one. He could sell out on his own music if he played his cards right.

He may not have sold as many records as Janet or MJ, but he's sold a few million as a solo artist. His self-titled album was pretty big.

1) When you really get down to it, what do Jermaine and Rebbie have to do with "African" music?

2) Why are the "African Music Awards" being held in London?

How long has Jermaine been riding coattails like this? Is this relatively new behavior for him?

No. He's been riding coattails since he left Motown in 1984.

Really? The first I am hearing of it has been since MJ died. Jermaine was a viable solo artist, no? Why not concentrate on his OWN material.

hmmm Why is Jermaine, all of a sudden, signing up to do all these shows? Awhile back,he was having trouble making his child support payments. Now,all of a sudden,he decided that he wants to be a performer again?

He certainly is.All these years,he could have been touring, playing small theatres with other Old school artists like Stephanie Mills,Howard Hewitt,The Whispers,etc....artists who actually work for a living and pay their bills. That way,he wouldn't have to embarass himself, going in front of a judge to explain why he can't make child support payments rolleyes "Im an almighty Jackson,I shouldn't have to work",lol.

Exactly. He thinks because he's Michael's brother, that he could just easily get a $5 million paycheck and he isn't getting that. He needs to get that through his greasy, thick skull of his. rolleyes He disgusts me with his actions. Where's the OLD Jermaine at? What happened? Did Berry steal the old Jermaine Jackson prior to him leaving Motown? confused I'm telling you if Jermaine has a replica version of himself it can explain why he's feeling himself. He had a good chance of being a real superstar in his own right at Motown because he worked hard to at least get into a position where he was producing for others so how come he gets to Epic or Arista or whatever and thinks whatever they do, they would make him as big as his brother and little sister? Maybe the family is used to it and they have no choice but to support ("hey that's my brother", they would say rolleyes ) but Jermaine's stupid if he thinks anyone will fall for it.

Do you think maybe he is just trying to keep his brother's legacy alive?

Surely he knows that he can never be equal to Michael.

answer to question: no. mj's legacy will be kept alive by mj (see timmy's response above). no one is going to forget mj.

response to statement. no, jermaine doesn't know that he can never be equal to mj. at the height of mj's thriller success, he infamously told people mag that 'it could have just as easily been me'.

he (and the others) are basking in the attention that they're receiving as mj's siblings. do you really believe rebbie and jermaine would have been thought about at all, gotten this gig at all, if mj was alive? they're more than willing to pretend to be 'keeping the legacy alive' when in fact they're simply profiteering from the void left by their brother.
