I still don't get why Sade was there.

ALICIA IS NOT WORTHY! I'm sorry, Sade is too good to be doing duets with anyone. I just can't share her. Sorry. Just can't.

I don't have a problem with Sade dueting. She just needs to pick someone worthy of the honor and whose talent matches hers. That's not Alicia.

I could be wrong, but Sade is probably using Alicia Keys to draw the younger crowd. I do not think its about talent, its about rebuilding a new fan base shrug

It was a charity event. She was there as a draw for people to buy tickets to the event, money that will go to whatever the name of this charity is. Keep a Child Alive or something like that.

I saw this a few days ago. It was alright, but I swear if I go to one of these newly announced Sade concerts and Keys comes on stage to sing Stronger Than Pride with Sade I'll take my handbag and throw it at her and make SURE I don't miss. You are NOT worthy. GET THE FUCK OFF THE STAGE.

their voices don't mesh for me. Isn't as smooth as it could be , Sade's voice is soft and warm compared to AK's ( at least here)

In one of Sade's recent interviews she's actually mentioned being a fan of Alicia so this duet was no surprise for me.

I don't think it was so bad though. I think Alicia has the minimum ability vocally to do a nicely enough take on a Sade song.

In all honesty, this performance only reinforces how much of a GEM Sade's voice is(and I don't think she's your traditional vocalist).

There! Read from that what you want lol

Sade may be off key at times, but that does not take away that she is a UNIQUE, rarefied artist.

Do you hold any female artists in high regard?

Well I'm not so sure. Whom? Care to share?

Why, because you seem reluctant to dole out generous praise to musicians in general, and especially reserve your enthusiasm toward female talent.

(I might be wrong but if you can't name a few, I might be right. )

Okay! There we go. That would explain it because we don't have many threads about them.

It also took me a minute to get into her too. I always liked Smooth Operator but i never

became a fan until the Love Deluxe cd.

It was alright, but not as smooth as I'm used to hearing Sade do it. I like when it picks up, but that's when it kinda falls apart. It doesn't give Sade enough room to do her thing.

Other people for Sade to duet with ... Nancy Wilson? Ledisi? Maxwell?

... Rihanna? rolleyes
