I detest Reggae and ignored this song for years and years and years. Decade +. One day I just listened to it and I think it's great biggrin

And I had no idea it was a FM cover boxed

Definately Chaka. Of the new songs on "Epiphany", this one was always my favorite. I love Fleetwood Mac but Chaka breathed new life into this song.

didn't know Chaka had a version, even though I've listened to that album several times. it's so coma-inducing that if you told me a year from now that Chaka had a version of "Everywhere" I'd probably be just as surprised.

Fleetwood Mac's version for familiarity and the mood it puts me in when I hear it. I am baffled that I'm not familiar with Chaka's version since I own Epiphany on tape, but haven't listened to it in years. eek

Definitiely Fleetwood 4 ME! I love me some Chaka, don't get me wrong, but I appreciate her more in a tougher musical vein and not such a bubblegummy/fluffy effort as this. biggrin

Do you mean the song or the entire set? Epiphany is practically useless lol What a shame of a greatest hits disbelief

Chaka and her label were at a war of words when this came out. Chaka wanted to work on another studio album (The Woman I Am had become her first certified album to go gold since I Feel for You and she felt the label could've expounded on that and allow her creative control). Her label wanted Chaka to promote a hits set, which she refused. She wasn't 100% behind it and it showed lol she left the label shortly after Epiphany came out. "Everywhere", "I Love You Still", "Never Miss the Water" (w/Meshell) and "My Funny Valentine" (I believe) were gonna be on her album, Dare You to Love Me.
