Trey Lorenz began his career supporting singer Mariah Carey on her first promotional tour in 1990; and the following year he provided background vocals on her album Emotions.

In 1992 his appearance on the television show MTV Unplugged received critical accolades and spawned the #1 single “I’ll Be There” - a cover of the Jackson 5 song – this duet with Mariah Carey would later be sung at Michael Jackson's memorial at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California on July 7, 2009.

Off the success of “I’ll Be There”, Trey Lorenz released the single “Someone To Hold” from his self-titled debut album on Sony Records. The single peaked at #19 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 singles chart and was co-written and co-produced by Carey, who also sang backup vocals

Trey also was signed to Carey's short-lived imprint label, MonarC and released his second album, “Mr. Mista” in 2006. Trey has contributed work for artist TLC, Selena, Jermaine Dupri, Usher, Basia and a host of other musical talents. You can also find his songs on the “Men in Black” and “Money Train” soundtrack.

Currently Trey is working on projects, which will include club, inspirational and urban contemporary music as well developing a music variety show.
