Cocteau Twins I just can't get over the fact, that I am really just now getting into them.
I am "Spellbound"
Their sounds are too funky and spiritual and lifting, for each album they did expressed such amazing originals.
Anyone with some words of praise?

An NME writer once wrote that they 'built sonic cathedrals in the sky'. The phrase, over time, came in for much mockery amongst po-mo, bo-ho literati whose superiority complex - built on pseuo- intellectual sands - denied them the outrageous beauty of Guthrie's music and Liz' voice. If you've ever been to Grangemouth, it's becomes a bit clearer that they had to exist, become the exception, the etherial rebellion, the literal rose among the weeds. I fucking worship at the altar of the Cocteau Twins.

On the contrary... although it appeared on the first This Mortal Coil album, Song to the Siren was solely performed by Robin Guthrie and Elizabeth Fraser (no one else from the TMC collective is on that recording). It's the Cocteaus in all but a name. Gorgeous piece of music.
No one will ever recreate the beauty of the Cocteau Twins. They were absolutely one-of-a-kind. Liz Fraser will always be my favorite female vocalist -- the voice of an angel. And Robin's guitar work was/is outstanding. I've loved the Cocteaus since the first time I heard them 20 years ago (The Pink Opaque). Used to go to sleep every night (that year in college) listening to that tape.

I too know the means of paradise and meeting of the mind. "I, when unable to sleep bring out my collection of songs and then play them on a play list, that continues to play over and over." I am in love and saddened to see such talent not come back or forth for our ears to devour.
It is like a ripe peach that our lips wish to taste, and then the pleasure sustained, be it hunger or that of juice...that is what I mean with cocteau twins...I achieve that pleasure.
I too agree with her *Liz and find her even better then Enya, and she is complete talent as well. Anyone:
know who you are at every age, and Fluffy Tuft seem to bring me down to my knees, but Pitch the baby has such darkness...it seems fun!
Know of any such unreleased works of the Cocteau Twins?

As much as I like them (I have all of their studio albums), the fact that most of their lyrics are nonsense prevents them from being elevated into the exclusive circle of artists I revere.
However, when they do a song proper like the aforementioned "Song To The Siren" cover, the sky's the limit.

"We may deify or demonize them but not ignore them. And we call them genius, because they are the people who change the world."
