  • The best-selling album of 1984 was Thriller, by Michael Jackson.[29]

So I clicked on the footnote link and got the top five albums of 1984 according to Billboard:

So, not to be nit-picky, but methinks this list has some flaws on it confused

I mean, I'm no music historian, but was the best-selling album of 1973 really The World Is a Ghetto by War? ...I guess it is a bad ass album hmmm

.

sorry but this list aint right....lot of mistakes in it...for a start...purple rain was number one from july 1984 til the end of that year...sold a million in the first week...when on to sell ten million in six months ans you are trying to tell me that color by numbers by culture club outsold it ?.....i might give you thriller as number one in 1984 but i would argue that as well...thriller had most of its big sales in 83 i would argue....and the beatles didnt have the best selling album in the any of the 60s ???....come on....

exactly; if BSB, NSYNC and Linkin Park all have a best selling album in 1999,2000 and 2001, respectively, then the Beatles MUST have at least one best selling album in the 60s, A Hard Day's Night in 1964, for example... and no Elvis in the 50s???

the best selling album of 84 must be PP or Like a Virgin...

the only decade with no mistakes here , in my opinion, is the 70s...and perhaps the 90s...

anyway, you can clearly see which has been the worst decade BY FAR: the friggin' 00s...lol confused
