NEW Wayman Tisdale. "The Fonk Album" I was lucky to have a friend connect me with the forthcoming Wayman Tisdale release, "The Fonk Album". This is a Wayman record that sounds closer to his original "Power Forward" sound than to some of the watered-down smooth jazz he got himself into for a period.
"The Fonk Album" is unquestionably his most organic, and funky project ever. The late Tisdale's, in progress, work was completed by Derek "D.o.A" Allen and Arthur Thompson. Guests include George Duke, and George Clinton.
I posted because I am so in love with a track on the album called "Neck Bones". The 'fonky' song features Wayman and O'Dell Ross in a fusion of guitars with DoA playing a synth in harmony that sings to my ears.
...Live drums through-out the whole thing!
...USA release date is mid October as I understand it.

Thanks for sharing Bob ! The artwork looks already promising. Very interested to hear this and a great memory. I remember being struck with unbelief when i heard about his passing. A very talented brother | |
