I was just about to post this, in reply to your earlier comment.

Honestly though...I got a tweet pic sent to my Droid X of Lady Gaga's "meat" dress and when I've forwarded and shown it to people, every single person's response was..."The MTV VMA's were on, last night???" shrug

I knew from the start that I loved you with all my heart.

Entertaining for sure, but I personally could never put lipsynched performances on a best of list.

Usher's performance was pretty awesome, even if the first part is all MJ choreography. Oh well, this is his first big performance since MJ's memorial so I guess it makes sense considering what a big influence MJ was on his career.

EDIT: Thank god MTV is forking out the cash to actually hire a BIG stage again. Last year was good, this year a HUGE improvement. 2008 looked like they all crowded into someone's garage.

I heard his performance without watching and heard every pitchy off key live note....

he was singing along to a track, but he didn't synch.....

maybe this is why there's always so much confusion over lip-synching....hmmm

That's right. What many artists do now is sing with their track. This way they can sing some notes and back off on others, and have their recorded voice helping them sound more full.

It's as annoying as all fuck.

It is pre-recorded vocals. but they are sometimes still singing along with it. You can clearly hear it.

But It always cracks me up when people are like, "Oh yes, it is live. It's not the same as the studio version!".

Um, ya....ok. lol
