Funny, I kept refreshing the page thinking there must be something wrong with the server since there have been so few posts.

This show is horrible. As much as I'd love to see Prince perform at the VMAs, I'm so glad he doesn't. I can't imagine him sitting through this shit-fest. And music aside, the host and the skits are degrading this awards show to the level of a Jerry Springer episode. I actually kinda like Chelsea, and I'm far from a prude, but this show is just embarrassing. I can't imagine a true artist with the caliber of say Prince or Stevie Wonder or Bruce Springsteen or Joni Mitchell being subjected to this.

The performances are so so, it's the most tame i think i have seen the show, no legendary artist's on the show, i watch it a lot to see if a legendary artist might make an appearance!, But overall very dull

Actually, it's not as bad as it has been for the past couple of years, but then again that's a really low threshold to pass. Having said that, it's pretty lame. For all of the hype over Taylor Swift, she's a really medicore singer, and Carrie Underwood could sing her under a table. I ddn't even know most of the rock acts nominated (30 Seconds To Mars and MUSE are the only ones I know). And Chelsea Handler is in over her head hosting this show; she's a lot better at being snarky benind a desk then standing on a huge stage.

The show was pretty terrible overall.

I remember when the VMA's was must see TV for me at one time. The last great year they had to me was 2000. They've had their moments on and off since then, but this years VMA's was perhaps the worst i've ever seen. I really don't have anything positive to say.

As much as a like to snark and clown on the BET Awards, and they do deserve it. They've been better than the VMA's every year since they started doing them.

I forgot about the show all day today and literally turned to MTV exactlywhen it started. I was like Oh shit the VMAs, damn, I don't have my tape ready to record...Oh well, it always re-airs I'll wait until tomorrow or whateva...but after watching it I don't even feel it's worthy of taping. It was such a letdown from start to finish. Big step backward from last year.
