Madonna goes incognito as she rides the New York subway

Who's That Girl? Madonna goes incognito as she rides the New York subway

She's one of the most famous women in the world and attracts attention and scrutiny wherever she goes.

But yesterday Madonna took a break from her usual glamorous style to wear an outfit that would help her blend in with the crowds on the New York subway.

The 52-year-old was unrecognisable as she stepped out in blue jeans, a black jacket and scarf, sunglasses, and a baseball cap.

Not a Material Girl: Madonna rides the New York subway undetected

With her hair pulled back into a ponytail and not a trace of makeup on her face, she could have been any average New Yorker out running errands.

And the mother-of-four was clearly enjoying the unusual lack of attention, getting onto a subway train without attracting the least bit of notice.

Clue #1: that guy in the blue & white shirt is either a bodyguard, a stalker or a lighting technician - any of which would be kinda obvious.

Clue #2: having your own paparazzi is usually a big giveaway, too. rolleyes

I dunno the NY Post article states that when she observed the photographer taking her pics, she said to him on the platform "I don't mind you taking my pics, just please be discrete" maybe she ventured out yesterday so the paparazzi will foloow her and not Lourdes (being that she started High School yesterday and a Puplic school at that... ( no such luck though cause they were all over the girl at school yesterday...

Madonna's daughter Lourdes Leon had a fashionable first day of school at LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts.

Who's that girl? It's Lourdes!

Madonna's firstborn became a New York City public school student Wednesday, showing up at prestigious LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts.

Lourdes Leon, 13, hugged a few friends and chatted with others after arriving at the Manhattan school at 8 a.m.

The fashionable Lourdes - who runs a Macy's clothing line with her mom - sported ankle-high leather boots, a black skirt and a plaid sleeveless shirt over a white T-shirt.

She clutched a cell phone, with a multicolored wristband on her right arm offset by an assortment of bracelets on her left.

Lourdes, who looked around warily for photographers, declined to comment as she headed in with the rest of the Class of 2014.

There was no sign of the Material Mom.

"I saw [Lourdes] in the morning and in the cafeteria," said a fellow freshman. "She was talking to people. ... She blends in with everyone. She seems like a normal person."

The teenage Lourdes, still sporting her braces, is reportedly in the drama department - a track intended to prepare students for an acting career.

Ninth-grade drama students at the exclusive school - which served as the inspiration for the movie "Fame" - are required to take classes in acting, dance, voice and diction, improvisation and theater history.

Some classmates were keen on mingling with the famous teen, but they didn't want to seem too eager.

"I don't want to be like, 'Your mom's a celebrity,'" said her fellow first-year student. "But if the occasion arises, I'd definitely talk to her."
