Manic Street Preachers - The Holy Bible
I still remember the day I bought this album back in 1994, so you can imagine my level of expectation (back then, when everybody was Oasis vs. Blur, I was a true Manics fan ).
And I still remember the effects after the first listening, to the point that it became an instant favorite of mine. (Just like I remember how I felt after listening to This Is My Truth Tell Me Yours - that's when I started to find the Manics boring )
But life goes on and one discovers new bands and new albums and there's never enough time to go back and re-listen some good old beloved stuff - and then it happened. My elder bro passed me a cd and said 'you should listen to this'.
I'm not a big fan of albums remasters, especially when the remastered one can be one of your favorites - but this 10th anniversary edition just killed me. After listening to the US mix the album came to my life again, adding to my memories brighter colours, bigger sound...
You don't know how much I'm enjoying this album again.
[And yes I know the Manics have a new album out now]
[ I hate purity .

This was the last album that Richey was involved in before he disappeared/killed himself, right?
Very tragic story. I don't think they were ever the same after that. |
