What's your favorite "Friday night and I just got paid" song? It's Friday night and you just got paid. You're getting ready to hang out and party with your friends. There have been SO many songs about this scenario.Which one is your favorite? What party song do you play to take you into the weekend?
My favorite is "Livin It Up (Friday Night)",the old 1978 Disco classic by Bell and James... "jump in my ride (ooh ooh ooh ooh) it's Friday night...yeah,yeah,yeah,yeah" Honorable mention goes to "Workin For The Weekend" by Loverboy (1981).Play that song an hour before your shift ends on a Friday, and you will be in the mood to PARTY!

A lot of those songs with lyrics explicitly relating to Friday Night etc make me cringe. Maybe it's the real dumb overt working class nature of it. You know, im gonna get drunk kinda thing. The best one ive heard is Cruisin And Boozin by Sammy Hagar..the lyrics though...eeek!
Other worthy ones Friday Night, August 14th - Funkadelic Just Got Paid - ZZ Top

Livin' For The Weekend by The O'Jays - It could be 10 degrees outside. This song puts cookouts, and as a result get 2gethers, on the brain.
Ladies Night by Kool and the Gang - Yeah, it's played 2 death, but it still taps in2 that "relax, relate, release" spirit of the weekend; although i never go no where being that i'm always working (i can imagine). peace
