I love Usher, but can't stand the song "Yeah". Maybe the lil Jon element turned me off. Felt like I was the only person in America circa 2004 who didn't like that song. Love "Caught Up" though.

Shit, you weren't alone. I fucking hated that stupid ass song. lol And Confessions and Let It Burn was just as annoying. disbelief

I actually hated "Yeah" but liked the other singles.

That picture is really fucking unnecessary.

Anyway, I've always thought 2003 was a great year then it went downhill til Lady Gaga kicked some life back into the scene. I'm happy with pop at the moment (since 2009). I would go so far as to say MJ's passing also helped to reinvigorate some artists to try harder. But 2004-2008 really did suck, save for a few good songs here and there. I wasn't even listening to the radio in the end, now I can listen to it again.

1. It was the first thing that came to my mind regarding this topic, so I posted it.

2. It is such a despicable and cruel thing to force feed ducks, and reminding people with shocking pictures is not a bad thing...hopefully, this terrible method will soon be a thing of the past.

I don't need you to remind me of the horrors of animal cruelty, thanks. If I wanted to see horrific pictures, I'd make the choice to look them up. I don't appreciate shock tactics, especially when making a "point" about pop music ffs. Take that shit elsewhere.

This thread IS about NUMBER ONES and POP HITS. And as I've said, 2004 features the WORST NÂș1 hits of all time . Period. Cheap, unfunny, disposable songs. I know, as I've said before, that some great albums were released during 2004. But many great singles didn't even crack the top50 because mainstream audiences were only interested in shot-hop and shit-dance. the best rock single of 2004, F.Ferdinand's "Take Me Out" didn't even crack the top100. Hell, I'm sure that not even "Smells Like Teen Spirit" would have cracked the top50 had it been released in 2004...

This is what this thread is about: the dictatorship of shit-hop, fans of shit-hop and the execs who sold their taste & reason and embraced cynism & shit-hop with open arms. I'm sure that any exec of Sony, Universal or whatever would tell you, in private, that "Usher is a disgrace, but hey, the boy sells, so..." Shit-hop overshadowed everything else in 2004, 2005 and 2006, and that's the end of pop music & mainstream radio in my book...

That's why I've said that Billboard Top 200 IS DEAD. The murderers were shit-hop artists, shit-hop fans and people who thought those songs were fun lol wink

Correction: rock is dead razz wink

=0P

Brace yourself
The best is yet to come
