oh come on, the whitney jokes are so mean, but funny I knew I would get a good laugh
I was feeling new edition that time and knew practically every song out there in 97' but I missed this one until I caught a bit of it earlier this year on Bobby's Behind the Music and didn't know WTF he was wearing.

Whitney was no angel, she was ghetto as hell behind that image that Clive Davis and his record label put out.
In fact New Edition members were like laughing when the reporters were questioning them about Whitney's image as this sweet innocent woman
In fact, I heard reports that Bobby was the better person out of the two of them. Someone met Bobby, and they said he was a better person than her.
People like to think Bobby destroyed Whitney, but Whitney's bad side eventually got the best out of her and she could no longer maintain that image. [Edited 8/25/10 19:50pm]

Weird. Whitney really seemed like the clean cut all American singer when I was growing up. That lasted until I got to high school and she was all of a sudden getting caught with weed and smoking crack and God knows what.
Even weirder is that Bobby, the "fucked up one", wound up turning around big time with his new group, while Whitney is still plagued by drug rumors and having embarassing flops for tours.
Sad. I wish I can go back to the days where she sang "Heartbreak Hotel" and "My Love Is Your Love".

It's hard to tell when Clive had plenty of control over Whitney's career in the 1980's.

The very beginning, DUH!

According to reports, Whitney had been dabbling in cocaine and marijuana since her teenage years. She was close to her brothers Michael and Gary, who have also suffered from cocaine abuse. I don't know how Michael is doing but Gary seems to be in the same up and downward slope like his sister. Bobby didn't had a hand in destroying Whitney's career and life, she did that herself because, in her own words, she wanted to have fun.
Bobby began using cocaine around the same time he came to contact with Whitney in 1989. Until then he was a weed head and drank alcohol. As Bobby said, once he got hooked on cocaine, he dabbled in any drug he and Whitney could find and that included heroin (don't know if Whitney tried it), crystal meth and angel dust/PCP (Whitney reportedly also used meth and PCP).

She basically got him into the drug stuff too.
And did you also notice how much his voice sucks now too. He used to sing really well until after 1993, where it all went downhill.
I think the drugs really jacked up his voice as well.

She gained so much weight. They are saying because she got steroid injections to treat an infection- which caused this, but who knows. [Edited 8/26/10 10:06am] [Edited 8/26/10 10:09am] [Edited 8/26/10 10:10am]

Eh, I don't have much interest either way but I think it's better for her to be a little too heavy rather than the skeleton she once was.

Case in point, Clive did NOT want Whitney to be "too black sounding" for the pop market. That is why the soul was limited on her debut album.

When he signed Whitney in 1983 that was his goal: to make sure Whitney didn't sound like Aretha. And being a obedient student she not only excelled but you would think she was actually born in California than New Jersey with the "girl whatever" moves and "prom" voice.

I don't remember this song AT ALL.....
I guess I'm the only one who watched "Being Bobby Brown". Bobby was a hot mess, but Whitney was worse.
