Anybody Watch Glee? They already did a Madonna and Gaga tribute, they're about to do a Britney episode next month. There's rumors floating around that the producers want a Michael Jackson, Prince, and George Michael dedication.
Would you want to see that? What 8 songs would you pick?
FYI- I love the show. | |

I would rather be a corpse....died of triple brain cancer, victim of necrophilia, burned on the cross & left to rot in an unmarked grave... rather than even see a COMMERCIAL for this flaming pile bovine retardation.

I've only seen 3 clips from Glee.
1. The "Express Yourself" performance with the blazers. 2. The "Bad Romance" peformance. 3. The egg scene.
It's wrong. It's disgusting. It's barf-tastic. (Yes, I just said barf-tastic) This show needs to get cancelled ASAP.
You know how many Prince and MJ videos I had to watch to cleanse my eyes of the abomination of Glee?
They ruin the songs they sing. I'm anticipating Prince's rejection to being part of this shit. [Edited 8/21/10 18:25pm]

I used to be really into Glee when it first came out , I liked some of the covers they do I just found it a amusing show. Now they got too overexpose and the last episodes sucked so i'm not sure If I still care now.

I don't like all the covers and autotuning, I prefer it for the script and sue sylvester

everyone told me I'd love Glee, but I don't watch very much TV at all, so I'd never caught it. I tuned in for the Madonna episode because I'm a big fan and a big fag and I figured I'd check out the show at the same time.
Hated it.
It almost made me dislike both Madonna and Jane Lynch, and I'd have thought that impossible before seeing that show. [Edited 8/21/10 19:18pm]

even though I liked the Madonna episode, I got irritated when everyone was going on about it and putting up Madonna pictures in their facebook profile, when some of them were not even old enough to remember when Vogue was popular and stuff like that. Most of them did not own all of her albums, so I kept a low profile about enjoying it to avoid being shoved in the bandwagon category [Edited 8/21/10 19:39pm]

^I thought the madonna episode was painful and uninspired. Usually Glee works the songs into the storylines a comes up with a different take on the music. The madonna episode was just a basic karoake performance even down to basically stealing the videos. If they continue to just shove an artist into a script for no other reason than trying to be a hip, what started out as a quirky fun lil show is going to jump the shark that its already circling. I thought it was more genuine when Papa Don't Preach was worked into the storyline of the first half of season 1, I see what you mean. I do remember liking the madonna performances more for the performances than how they related to the plotline, or lack of it.

Absolutely! The show has strong characters and a great chemistry- they don't need to go down that road. Feel free to join in the Prince Album Poll 2018! Let'a celebrate his legacy by counting down the most beloved Prince albums, as decided by you!

I love it. I think people take it WAY too seriously, come on, just cuz it's set in a high school doesn't mean it has to be 100% realistic. It's a campy, fun comedy with some great music involved. Sometimes they go overboard with the autotune or that main chick oversinging but overall it's a really enjoyable show if you just relax and stop trying to find things wrong with it.
As far as being socially relevant, this next scene was brilliant. For an issue like gay young people that is so often swept under the rug, or where gay characters are made to seem like fun parodies to laugh at - for such a popular show to completely address that head on was amazing. I can just imagine all the teens who say every one of those words the dad addresses without a single thought watching it.
Glee's often known for it's cutting, so-cruel-it's-funny type humour, but to me it's the scenes with heart that make it really stand out:
