It has nothing to do with Purple Prince! Its because his GRANDFATHER'S name was Prince! That family is known for re-using names.

He says it's a family name, but I believe it's because he bought into that King of Pop bs and was a weird dude.
I also wonder if he wanted to one-up Prince by creating a more famous one. My Legacy
