^^ You should separate albums from songs. But I'm not the one compiling the results. Maybe it's obvious to everyone else which is which. shrug

The intent of this list is not to impress the music lover masses or influence the rankings for the decade. This list is merely a sharing of my music-listening foundation. Since I was born in the 70’s and the decade only covers the first eight years of my life, I wanted it to reflect what I was exposed to at an early age, and that has had an impact on me. It is not definitively ranked, and I’m sure I could tweak it for another month; but it is a close representation of it. Thanks to my parent’s record collection and various soul and pop stations, these songs took a hold of me. The foundation is heavily soul, disco, and funk-filled, with a sprinkling of gospel. That represents 90% of the list. The other 10% represents the music I grew to love in my 20’s and 30’s, which are more pop/rock oriented with some other missed gems. I distinctly remember a cheesy song or two having an effect on me during those years. While I might not play some of the songs today, I wanted to acknowledge those as well. Please be nice, it was a labor of love. love Thanks Moonbeam for your patience! biggrin

Since we've got a little reprieve, I'm going to send you an adjusted file tomorrow morning. I just realized that I forgot to put Tumbling Dice in my top five. That'll be the only change. I hope that doesn't cause you any grief.

This shit was hard as hell, trying to decide who to add to my final lists. I was constantly taking albums and songs off the lists, adding them back again, taking them off again, adding them back on again. I finally had enough. I looked at my lists of songs and albums, which both had more than a couple of hundred selections each, I counted down to 200 hundred and that was my list. This shit kicked my ass up and down the Internet. I left off way too many songs and albums that I wanted to add. I had enough stuff compiled to do several more list.

I hear ya! When I first compiled the list with as many songs that I loved from the 70's, I ended up with 394 songs. eek I'm sure it could have gone further. When I eyed the list, I randomly decided to stop and count. Great! How am I going to get this to my liking of just 200 songs? That became the nailbiter part of the process. I had such an elaborate process of listing and then eliminating. It was kinda crazy. lol
