I realized earlier tonight I have her on a song by Angel Demar called "Who Runs This". I don't know where she's at on the song, but she's listed as "featuring" I found Angel's song ages ago on iTunes and bought it. It samples the song "Apache" that Sugarhill Gang also sampled. Missy Elliott sampled the same song for "We Run This" (perhaps an answer to Angel's song?)

I have to remember this is a prince site, where most don't have a clue about music nor hip hop or rappers, or anything that may come on the radio outside of that stealing Madonna. But they sure know about fake butts, dicks in the booty and makeup.

Her flow is retarded and it is unique. She had a strong underground following due to her mixtapes which are some of the best by a female rapper. She was an underground artist. If you know anything about underground hip hop, you gotta bring it lyrically and have a flow. Which is what she did and continues to do.

But like most orgers they fear or are scraed of what they haven't actually listened to, have no intrest in rap, rappers or hip hop, yet have the strongest opinions on something they have no clue about, with the exception of a few posters here.

On this first two pages of this subforum alone we have topics about Blondie, Bomb The Bass, Jamiroquai, Jeff Lorber, Charles Mingus, The Smashing Pumpkins, Teddy Pendergrass, Con Funk Shun, George Duke, Nina Simone, Bilal, El DeBarge. You wanna talk about not knowing about music, but I bet you've never listened to HALF of those artists I just listed. You probably don't even know who some of them are.

All that said - I like Nicki. She does have a unique flow and good lyrics, but I have yet to hear a really great song from her. "Massive Attack" was average, and hence it flopped commercially despite her hype. "Your Love" is dull to me. However, I have faith that there will be some great tracks on "Pink Friday", although that is a terrible album name.

She obviously wants to be a pop artist but seems to be having difficulty making the transition. At least, that's how it seems to me.
