Nice.
I've never been a fan of Prince's singing and his falsetto, average. Prince wish he sounded that good singing in his upper registry.
RUNNing...... fast.

I wouldn't say the fiasco hurt his career. He still pretty much has his same fan base
which is mostly female. I just saw him last year with Ledisi and MC. I had females
sitting in front of me talking to me about his songs and they were schooling me about
which songs were on which albums. Don't laugh at my funk

From what I hear Eric Benet has quite a large fan base. Almost every venue in which he appears, not matter how large, sells out with ticket sales. Music is for lovers. |

I disagree. I think he was well on his way to broadening his appeal until that mess broke while Halle was America's sweetheart. Hurricane was easily the best R&B album the year it came out and couldn't get much love from radio cuz it was released after the Halle mess.
That tour with Ledisi and MC was cancelled a week or two after it started. Eric routinely plays dumps, at least he does when he comes to Dallas. He can't sell out decent, small venues. I don't even think he gets booked at Essence any more. All this is a tragedy considering he's one of the most talented R&B talents out there. Definitely better than wackass Robin Thicke. |

This is the album I start paying attention to the man. Even so, it's strange how things work, he sure isn't the first person to step out on his mate, people appeared to have taken this personally. |

The media bias treated Eric Benet very unjustly with all the 'sex addict' accusations and desparaging statements on his character. Everyone who has met or known Eric Benet personally (both male & female), from what I've heard, say he's a good person.
Without the negative media, with Eric Benet's talent and personal appeal, I think he'd be steadily at the top of the music charts by now. Music is for lovers. |

Agreed. Even though his fan base is mainly women, it was that same fan base that bailed on him after he fucked over Halle. What REALLY made it worse for him was when he asked for alimony. Not a good move. That really made him look bad - how he gonna ask for financial support after HE cheated on HER? So yeah, his career took a big ass hit after that. You can call me "ROC" for short |

No, they treated him that way because he was a fraud. He was coming off as this Mr. Do-right dude but was fuckin' broads left and right and fucked over Halle - Black America's sweetheart. So it was his "perfect man" public persona they were attacking, and rightfully so. You can call me "ROC" for short |

For real! Folks was and are STILL mad at Eric for what he did. Granted he was wrong for cheating with his ex on the DAY Halle won her Oscar but that heffa is nuts! |

He is VERY personable and likeable in person. Not like he has much choice but he seems genuine and humble when I've met him. Not to mention foiner than a mug! |

Yeah, watching her thank him profusely when she won only to find out that he was caught leaving his apartment with his ex that morning was a trip. Definitely not a playa move. |

Great vocal. Chorus sounds way too much like "I Ain't Got You". Hate the synthesised horns. |
