Please, it ain't like she's telling her fans "do cocaine because I did it", she just admitted to cocaine use for her own merit, not for anyone else's.

[Edited 8/8/10 23:58pm]

I know right? Sheesh. I just hope she doesn't let it control her. She owes us monsters a new album next year dammit!!! Although, I do love the Black Album...wink wink nudge nudge. I wonder what kind of coke induced melodies she could come up with....and BETTER videos!!

She's Lady Gaga. For now, she can do no wrong.

She could snort coke while slowly suffocating a baby and fools would be talking about how she just did a great performance art piece. rolleyes

Yes. When people start speaking about things like this in public it indicates they've started to think they can get away with stuff that others can't.

I think the world needs to stop trying to make sense of her. She's a mess of talent, sex, pop and art and there's really no point trying to understand where she's coming from with all of it. This society needs to have everything labelled clearly and fitted into a neat little box but that'll never happen with Gaga. Luck is the reason she got world famous, obvious talent and a knack for a great pop song kept her going, now let's see what she does next.

Yeah her saying this would be alarming if I cared about her. I think most people lie about how much they use drugs.

Heavy pot smokers smoke "a couple times a week" and heavy drinkers drink "a glass of wine after work" and coke users use "a couple times a year"

I know some people who actually do use coke and not very often, but someone in Gaga's position is at greater risk, IMO because she admits she was a heavy user and she now has tons of money, spare time (or will have spare time after touring) glory, fame, etc

She's a woman and a "pop tart" so it's not cool for her to do it according to some folks. shrug I don't give a damn. Gaga doesn't either. lol

You see, if I was a guy, and I was sitting here with a cigarette in my hand, grabbing my crotch and talking about how I make music ‘cause I love fast cars and fucking girls, you’d call me a rock star. But when I do it in my music and in my videos, because I’m a female, because I make pop music, you’re judgemental, and you say that it is distracting. I’m just a rock star.

I don't really think it's a case of people being judgemental. We all know that drugs have ruined careers (or nearly ruined) and, in some unfortunate cases, killed off many a rock star. The gal is talented, so I think people are giving her the cautious side eye because it would be a damn shame if she were to suffer the same fate, ESPECIALLY since she used to be an addict.

Honey, stop talking and just create the music.

it's not about females vs. males it's about the expectations people have of you.

Courtney Love got heat for admitting she did heroin while pregnant, but not for doing heroin in general, or for doing drugs. They expected it of her.

Same with Amy Winehouse, though she got attention for being a complete wreck, because Amy's big hit was called "Rehab" they expected her to be on drugs.

Whitney Houston, on the other hand was america's darling and it was s shock for people to find out she was on drugs.

The Beatles got a bunch of heat for doing drugs because it was not accepted at the time, though in retrospect they have been forgiven for anything because they are the Beatles and not still around to answer for their "crimes" of influencing others.

Gaga's place in this universe is still being determined. Is she a teenybopper or an artist? Does she cross the line or stay within the safety of mainstream pop. It is like Madonna. Another more daring artist would not get that kind of heat for Like a Prayer video, but she was a mainstream pop star in a Pepsi commercial, she is held to a different standard than Marilyn Manson.

Yeah, I think she's lying. Either she doesn't use at all, uses more than she cares to admit, or was never an addict.
