Both versions by glenn lewis and Robin thicke are better than the MJ version.....

I hate the fact that MJ's version was only a demo mad this song should have been finished.

A classic.

Yes. I can't tell if Robin re-cut the vocals or not, though. I've heard his demo version.

Robin sounds great! I'm glad he's finally releasing a version. I'll never understand how this song didn't make Invincible. disbelief

It's amazing how many great tunes Michael rejected when he was putting that album together disbelief "Fall Again" is better than the bland "You Are My Life".

MJ didn't reject the song , He recorded a demo, during the recording process his son prince got sick so he decided to leave the session , but he should have finished the track later on but he didn't sad , during that time the song was already given to glenn lewis to be released as a soundtrack for the movie "Maid In manhattan" .

I agree its better than "You Are My Life", I Never liked it.confused

Why? Kenny was pretty powerful at one point. He has done a lot of collaborations with singers. Toni Braxton, Smokey Robinson, Kashif, etc. have all worked with Kenny. What's wrong with Robin?

As a matter of fact, it is a smart move for Kenny to team up with Robin for a lead single. It reintroduces him to a large portion of his core audience and will entice them to purchase his album.

It annoys me abit how most people on here hate him LOL. I know they would love (and bet they own) his earlier rnb stuff with Kashif, yet they won't even admit to saying they like that stuff let alone own it.

Stop hatin' on Thicke!

He's actually one of the more better (I won't say 'blue eyed soul') singers out there by far despite his disappointing last album - a far departure from "The Evolution..." for sure...

As for Mr. Gorlick, he should call Jeff Lorber and once again talk about going back to their roots and reunite the fusion... make a GREAT selling point - and damn good music too...

and for those too young to remember (I'm kinda in this class, but I AM a musician for a living)... look for anything by Jeff Lorber Fusion - either "Galaxian" or "Wizard Island" - You will see Kenny G. in a TOTALLY different and funky light!

'dre

Tried many flavours - but sooner or later, always go back to the Purple Kool-aid!

Same here. Thicke does a masterful job on this song. I'll be picking up the CD right away.

Do ur homework. Before Kenny became a snooze fest, he was pretty-much an r&b artist.

Don't make assumptions about people. Hey, I like cheese just like everyone else. But just because someone plays a genre of music does not mean that music is worthy of listening too. Shooot, just because Good Question is categorized as r&b doesnt mean they are good.

Oh, and for a great take on my Kenny G sucks arse: http://www.jazzoasis.com/...kennyg.htm

Oh, and for a great take on my Kenny G sucks arse: http://www.jazzoasis.com/...kennyg.htm

In the beginning of his career, his music was mostly r&b. He was the saxaphone version of Anita Baker. It wasn't until "Silhouette" hit it big that he became a solid AC "jazz" artist.

I agree that Kenny is not necessarily a great saxaphonist and I agree that his timing is not always on, but the man can play.

I'm not a big Kenny G fan and feel the same way you do about his later work. All of his albums after Duotones are horrible to me. However, I think these albums are good.

Yeah, there are some occasional "elevator" tracks, but overall, I think they are decent albums.
