Deniece Williams "Sonbird" Reissue Coming In August The long out of print Japan reissue is currently selling on Ebay for upwards of $200!!! This one will cost around $15.

DENIECE WILLIAMS - SONG BIRD (Expanded Edition) Format: CD Cat No: CDBBR 0009 Release Date: 9 August 2010 Label: BBR (Big Break Records) Deniece first made an impression as part of Stevie Wonder's back-up trio WONDERLOVE in the early seventies. In 1976 she released her debut album This Is Niecy which featured the mega-hit FREE which topped the UK chart. SONG BIRD was her sophomore set, released on Columbia in 1977. The album was again produced by Earth, Wind & Fire's Maurice White. The album was released on CD in a very limited run in the nineties. Copies of this issue fetch hundreds on dollars on eBay. Featured are the hit single BABY BABY MY LOVE'S ALL FOR YOU, Deniece's inspirational GOD IS AMAZING and the UK Soul underground favourite THE BOY I LEFT BEHIND This newly remastered edition features extensive liner notes, an interview with Deniece and a bonus track promotional single version. Tell me about it! A few years ago, after being told by someone in the industry that Sony was showing absolutely no interests in reissuing Deniece's titles, I shelled out some major bread for the Japan imports of "Niecy" and "Songbird" and now the damn things are being reissued domestically.

So now I will finally be able to own a brand new Niecy CD. So far I've had to settle with a second hand copy that had a massive scratch and been waiting about two months for another to turn up.
