August 31st Universal Music Enterprises (Ume) will launch a new series of albums featuring the greatest hits and fan favorites of some of the most iconic artists in music history, thus its name--the Music Icon Series! Thirty artists from different genres ranging from R&B to country are included. And of course you can't have a roster of musical icons and their hits without including Miss Janet Jackson and her bad-ass self.
If you're thinking, "Wasn't this done already?" let me explain. This new Universal release is one disc of music hits. Janet's 2009 release was a 2-disc compilation featuring new song, "Make Me." Secondly, this upcoming album features 12 global #1's and the title single, "Nothing", from Tyler Perry's, "Why Did I Get Married Too?" And third, this CD is part of an entire series of great music under the Universal umbrella. But who cares about all that! Cop this release anyway! You never know when you'll need some emergency Janet music at work, in the car, or on your way to the beach.

Sean, do you know if Janet is really the executive producer of 'Being T'?
Yep, she's the producer. In a recent interview with the guy who runs Janet-Love (Darren), she said it was time someone shone a light on the trans culture.

Janet Jackson - Ne-Yo Wants Janet Jackson For Tribute
Ne-Yo Wants Janet Jackson For Tribute
NE-YO is planning to recruit JANET JACKSON to record music he wrote for her late brother MICHAEL, insisting it would be "disrespectful" to hand the songs over to an artist outside the musical family.
The King of Pop approached Ne-Yo to write him an album's worth of material shortly before he passed away last summer (Jun09).
Jackson never had the opportunity to record the tracks but Ne-Yo still wants them to be heard by fans - and is hoping to give them to the superstar's siblings to sing.
Ne-Yo tells Britain's Daily Star, "I've been trying to figure out what to do with those songs. I can't give them to anybody else because they were written for Michael. That would be disrespectful.
"So if I could get Janet and the brothers to do a collaborative tribute, that would be a great idea.
"There are about 10 he personally selected. He told me, 'I like this one, this one, this one.' I can't just put them out by myself because again they were meant for him but they're really good songs, it's good quality music."
Is this a recent picture? It looks like it was from the Love Will Never Do era.
It's one of the Herb Ritts photos during the Love Will Never Do period. Here are some more...

These are so gorgeous. I miss Herb. He always made everyone look their absolutely best and most feminine and natural, along with Kevyn Aucoin. I love these two guys.

"When Michael Jackson is just singing and dancing, you just think this is an astonishing talent. And he has had this astounding talent all his life, but we want him to be floored as well. We really donĀ“t like the idea that he could have it all."
We would love this! Ne-Yo wrote songs for Michael Jackson specifically and has said that it would be "disrespectful" to pass them on to other musical artists outside of the Jackson Family. Now he's hoping that Janet Jackson will bring new life to the songs. He explains: "I've been trying to figure out what to do with those songs. I can't give them to anybody else because they were written for Michael. That would be disrespectful. So if I could get Janet and the brothers to do a collaborative tribute, that would be a great idea. "There are about 10 he personally selected. He told me, 'I like this one, this one, this one.' I can't just put them out by myself because again they were meant for him but they're really good songs, it's good quality music." I think that's a pretty good idea actually! But will Janet be up for a collaboration with her brothers?
I feel Janet should do it by herself with only one or two songs with her brothers. Let famewhore Jermaine do a co lead & that's it. u know he going to want to take over. Leave La toya out!
will ALWAYS think of like a "ACT OF GOD"! N another realm. mean of all people who might of been aliens or angels.if found out that wasn't of this earth, would not have been that surprised. R.I.P.
