LOL I know! I know some people who swear me down that he's straight. Yeah, right! I'll bet Janet will be the first person he comes out to. "Get up off that grey line"

Pam Anderson, PETA Slam Janet Jackson Blackgama Fur CampaignBlackgama furs has announced that pop superstar Janet Jackson is the new image for Blackgama furs 2010 campaign. The campaign called Blackgama, What Becomes A Legend Most? is sparking the expected outrage from animal rights group PETA, and animal rights activist Pamela Anderson - who said Janet Jackson was being "greedy."
She tells Out magazine, "It's disappointing. She has spoken out against fur before. I don't know why some people stop listening to their heart. I guess some people get greedy, but it's sad."

Though I don't agree with Janet's decision to endorse fur calling her names is unnecessary. Especially coming from a prostitute who made a living off selling her body.

@ the chick who's gotten over for almost 20 years because of her body tryin' to talk mess "We may deify or demonize them but not ignore them. And we call them genius, because they are the people who change the world."

I MUST BUY A COPY!!!!! This is exciting. Did ur friends self-publish, or did they go through a company? I really want to sell the Janet book I'm currently writing once it's finished. "Get up off that grey line"

They self published and their previous book did really well (it was the #1 MJ book on Amazon on and off for 8 weeks). They self published because they didn't want people tampering with their work and when they would shop it, publishers told them they didn't want to publish a positive book about Michael "We may deify or demonize them but not ignore them. And we call them genius, because they are the people who change the world."

Janet and Rich Harrison really had something with this one. I liked it since it first mysteriously leaked last year (I think?). I miss Jan singing in this voice. Some think its a little whiney but I can dig it! Her ad libs are on point towards the end. Janet knows her range and flows well within it. Wasn't this an unreleased joint from the Damita Jo sessions? This could have easily replaced a couple of songs on DJ in my opinion. Don't get me wrong, I consider DJ underrated but this could've easily replaced some of the weaker tracks.

Yeah it was recorded in 2003.

Pamela Anderson's throwing stones!? Hi-larious! Why be so concerned about Janet's fur coat? Desperate for publicity, I see. Hmm.
Pamela Anderson owes the state of California half a million in taxes. Who's the greedy one?
Pamela Anderson sold her own sextape for relevancy. Now that's sad.
Pamela Anderson was one of the Hollyweirdos that started the UGG trend. Hypocrite.
Pamela Anderson wears leather and drives a Range Rover with leather interior. 2 faced.

It's not whiney at all! The Damita Jo sessions have some of her best vocals ever. I just hate how dated the production sounds. But I love that he made her project her voice more. I think 'Pops Up!' could've replaced 'My Baby' (Zzzz).
I wish she would release some of her B-sides. She has a habit of leaving hot songs off her albums

CraPam, STFU and leave my Janet alone!

Case in point: I'm Here Put Your Hands On (leaving that off was an abomination ) Could This Be Love
And the other Rich songs: Pops Up Put It On You (I think that's the song title, people kept calling it "Speed It Up" lol)

Is this a recent picture? It looks like it was from the Love Will Never Do era. "When Michael Jackson is just singing and dancing, you just think this is an astonishing talent. And he has had this astounding talent all his life, but we want him to be floored as well. We really don´t like the idea that he could have it all."

It's one of the Herb Ritts photos during the Love Will Never Do period. Here are some more...

My absolute favorite Janet video. This was the vid that solidifides for me that I wanted to BE Janet Jackson. the jump over the chair, the Guess jeans with the kneepads, the solo dancing, everything about that video had me like THIS: O_o. I went to the hair dresser and was like I want my hair to look like Janets in the Pleasure Principle video. I was young, ain't no nuffin bout that being a weave. The Control Era and the Rhythm Nation eras were the best for me. She lost me with all that sexual ish, I thought she was trying to hard, and then I just felt bad for her with that superbowl nonsense and then 20YO. She looks amazing now thou, sexy and beautiful w/o being slutty, she looks AMAZING for her age, is rocking the short cut and her live performances, her body is thick and SICK, and since her brother passed away there is this aura around her, it's sadness for sure but there is also an element of strength in her mannerisms and in her eyes that I see.. she's just fantastic.
Sorry. Wow, that was long... Prince esta muerto...

Looks like there's not much activity on this thread--oughta be a sticky like the MJ thread... Anyway, just wanted to drop in and show appreciation for the self-titled "Janet" album... with Jimmy Jam/Terry Lewis/Jelly bean producing, etc. Although I've been a long time fan from the 80s, I've never heard this album before...and most of the songs on it are terrific! Loving almost all of them! Two huge thumbs up...even though I'm really late to the party on this one!
P.S. Probably a naive statement at this point--but a thought while I'm listening--that Janet needs to get back just the right balance of "velvet and steel" sensibility in her music... [Edited 8/3/10 14:08pm]

After digesting it, please share your thoughts. This record was huge. They set this one up perfectly. "That's The Way Loves Goes" was a great, subtle, first single choice and "If" was the huge follow up that took the record to the stratosphere. I've always loved its diversity. Quintessential Janet record to me.
I hear you on the velvet, steel factor. Perhaps time away from it all will prove a healthy remedy for her. Perhaps rejoining with her classic production team will provide that also. I ain't mad at the thought of new blood in the mix but don't leave the team baby.
