Well, Trollmaine wasn't giving us Quincy with those last two albums. Chile! and I'm so glad she got rid of that matted ponytail.

Troll penis definitely had a negative effect on her thinking process lol

YESSS! Queen Janet in a new campaign

THINK MINK: Janet Jackson has wrapped up another gig. The singer will join the ranks of Diana Ross, Sophia Loren, Lauren Bacall, Elizabeth Taylor, Liza Minnelli and, more recently, Elle Macpherson and Elizabeth Hurley, as the newest face in the Blackglama advertising campaign, “What Becomes a Legend Most?”

Jackson was photographed by Rocco Laspata of Laspata DeCaro, at the Milk Studios in New York. The campaign, which begins in September, will span print, online and outdoor outlets. The ads will appear in Vanity Fair, W, Vogue, T Magazine and Harper’s Bazaar, as well as WWD and Style.com, in addition to the international editions of Vanity Fair, Vogue, Elle and Harper’s Bazaar. Blackglama will also mount a Times Square billboard at Broadway and 45th Street in September. The company has increased its marketing spend 40 percent from a year ago, but wouldn’t disclose dollar figures. Blackglama has also expanded its product line, introducing leather bags, eyewear, fragrance and fur accessories, in an effort to make it a less seasonal, more year-round brand.

A behind-the-scenes video documenting the making of the campaign will appear on the Blackglama and Jackson Web sites. Jackson flew to New York for the shoot after performing on the finale of “American Idol,” where her performance shot up to number one on iTunes (which she pointed out via Twitter after the fashion shoot).

So did she get to keep the mink?

“Yes, Janet did get to keep the coat,” confirmed a Blackglama spokesman, a perk for the legends of the past, who all got to keep the coats they were photographed in.

That's cool cool The look suits her well. I'm also glad to see the company she's in, with the campaign. Elizabeth Hurley is questionable considering everyone else on that list. But nevertheless, its still a nice ensemble of legendary women. Janet's legendary status has been well secure for awhile now anyway, whether she cuts another record or not. To quote the Diabolical Biz Markie, "Damn it feels good to see people up on it."

Has the world finally gotten over its selective amnesia when it comes to Ms. Jackson? Maybe so....

Watch out for PETA Jan! They'll be stalking you out with those freakin bloodied dead animals if you're not careful

Praises:

"For decades, Blackglama has represented the finest, most exclusive mink in the world," says Joe Morelli, CEO of Blackglama. "Throughout its illustrious history, Blackglama has remained a dynamic and powerful player in the fashion industry. Much like Blackglama, Janet Jackson has occupied a similar position in her respective industry. Janet is an icon in the world of music and entertainment, a true legend. She represents everything that this storied campaign embodies. Janet is to entertainment what Blackglama is to luxury."

"Janet defines the very essence of what the word 'legend' implies," says Charles DeCaro, co-creative director of Laspata DeCaro. "When we decided to return Blackglama to its celebrity associated branding roots, she was the perfect fit in the evolution of the iconic campaign. Janet's distinction as a legend is particularly poignant in that she is a relevant tour de force with a universal, multi-dimensional appeal."

On shooting Janet Jackson for the campaign, Rocca Laspata, photographer and co-creative director of Laspata DeCaro, says, "The chemistry between who is before and behind the lens is crucial in any successful sitting. Janet completely gets that dynamic and delivers 100% in establishing a one-on-one connection. She is extremely focused on set and I fell completely in love with her."

I find it a bit strange that Janet would start off a career as a spokesperson for a brand by endorsing fur. I always thought she was a vegan and she also has spoke out against animal cruelty. Either way she looks great!

PETA Upset By Janet Jackson's Blackglama Campaign

July 16th, 2010 8:42am EDT 1 comment favoriteAdd to My News

Janet JacksonAnimal activists have taken aim at Janet Jackson for signing on as the new face of fur firm BlackGlama.

The pop superstar was announced as the brand's new 'What Becomes a Legend Most?' spokes model on Thursday and she'll model high-quality mink items in the ads - and PETA bosses have been quick to react.

Spokeswoman Amanda Schinke says, "It's amazing what celebrities will do when their careers are on a downslide, but we didn't think that Janet was this desperate."

"Surely she knows enough about suffering and unjustified death to recognize that both occur in the production of a fur coat. We are asking her to think again and to donate these stolen skins to be used as bedding for animals orphaned by other human-caused disasters, such as loss of habitat."

Who, Prince?

I find it disgusting no matter who does it. But, doing it today after more is known about the cruelty involved is inexcusable. Not to mention the fact there's a difference in wearing it in the past and REPRESENTING a company, today, which sells it. And if she's supposed to be vegan/vegetarian then that doubles the disappointment. disbelief
