TINA TURNER APPRECIATION!!!

as many of you do, i LOVE Tina Turner. she put on one of the best shows i've ever been to. some of her best songs IMO, are ones that weren't huge hits or singles. below are three of my favourites. i think "Foreign Affair" & "Wildest Dreams" are my favourite Tina albums. what are some of your favourite albums, songs, shows, videos, etc...by this beautiful icon?

"Something Special" is a song that was recorded by Grammy Award-winning rock singer Tina Turner. It was recorded in 1996 for her Wildest Dreams album, but did not make the final tracklist because it did not fit with the style of the rest of the record. It was finally released on her 2004 'Greatest Hits' compilation, All The Best. written by Albert Hammond & Graham Lyle. produced by Trever Horn

"Whatever You Want" is a hit single by rock and soul singer Tina Turner. The song is noted for its different levels of energy and strong vocal performance, its orchestral arrangement and complex production, courtesy of producer Trevor Horn. The single's highest charting was in Spain at #2.

The music video was directed by Stéphane Sednaoui and it features Tina Turner with futuristic special effects surrounding her. The special effects become more vigorous as the song progresses.

Despite being released as the lead single to Tina's 1996 Wildest Dreams album and becoming a Top 20 hit in most parts of Europe, and also the opening number on her 1996/1997 Wildest Dreams Tour the track was surprisingly omitted from Turner's 2004 greatest hits package All the Best - this while the compilation featured four other tracks from the Wildest Dreams album.

"Whatever You Want" should not be confused with the 1999 recording "Whatever You Need" from the album Twenty Four Seven. written by Andrew Baker, Fred Zarr, Taylor Dayne produced by Trevor Horn

"Love Thing" is a single released in 1992 by Grammy Award-winning rock/pop singer, Tina Turner for her 1991 Simply The Best album, on which it was one of four new recordings. The single, which brought Tina back to her rock roots, also included the non-album track "I'm a Lady", written and produced by Terry Britten and Graham Lyle. written by Albert Hammond & Holly Knight. produced by Chris Lord-Alge, Tina Turner & Roger Davies

have to add this one as well...

music

"When The Heartache Is Over" is a hit single released by Tina Turner in 1999. The song, produced by Brian Rawling & Mark Taylor - the team behind Cher's 1998 hit "Believe", was released as the lead single to Turner's album Twenty Four Seven. It was a considerable hit both on the pop and dance charts, reaching #10 in the UK and #3 on the US Dance charts, and it also peaked at #3 in Finland and #1 in Egypt. The singles released included remixes of "When The Heartache Is Over" by among others the Metro team, 7th District Inc. and Hex Hector. Certain European CD singles also included two live recordings from the 1996/1997 Wildest Dreams Tour; "I Can't Stand the Rain" and "On Silent Wings". written by Graham Stack & John Reid

I think her "Private Dancer" is flawless from start to finish.

Esp Better be good to me music

Yes I know, you keep telling me that you love me

And I really do wanna believe

But did you think I'd just accept you in blind faith?

Oh sure baby, anything to please you

Love the cynicism in that verse.

ALL HAIL THE QUEEN!

I've been feeling this record so much lately. If you don't own it you aren't a fan.

"The Difference Btwn Us," "Whatever You Want," "Do What you Do," "Something Beautiful Remains" & "Thief of Hearts" are so fucking great!!

And if you don't have her three other classics, go get em!

oh...and...anyone else know her boxset? Disc 2 is the shit! "Johnny and Mary," "Games," "A Change is Gonna Come," even the Ace of Base made popular "Don't Turn Around!"

I busted out the Tina Live from 2008 (2009?) - the last tour dvd too. She still had it!!! I was on cloud 9 when she toured again in 08. If there is a god, let her do one more arena tour! at 71! who cares, the bitch is still on fiya and that voice...too bad for Beyonce, RiRi, Gaga, her tour would outsell theirs and she still looks better in heels!

I'll leave it alone babe...just be me

I will never forget how infatuated I was with Tina as a child because of her presence. I also kind of used to watch her concerts on tv just to watch her that and that buff keyboard player she had in her band lol

What makes Tina special is that she transcends eras. It was like five different Tina Turners emerged. The 1960s brought a soulful, raw element, the 1970s had a funkier Tina, the 1980s brought out this Amazona goddess, the 1990s was a smoother polished Tina, and then the settled Tina of the new millennium. Tina is always gonna be relevant even though her last big hit was 17 years ago.
