You would think that they'd actually go out and buy his record when it came out.

Stan was coined by Eminem with his song 'Stan' back in 1999. Its basically Stalker + Fan = Stan. Now its just used to distinguish causal fans from fans that follow their faves every move.

Plus, Prince fans tend to be older.
