I think they meant the way he treated he after the event, he should have been a gentleman and gave her some support.

Exactly (years later I can't believe we are still talking about this, but here goes...) the thing that makes Justin a coward was how he actually handled the situation, not with what actually happened that night. The press crucified Janet over a wardrobe malfuntion that shouldn't had been that much of a big freaking deal, yet they didn't want her to attend the grammy awards and etc. (which I found to be laughable giving that other artists had made much bigger and horrendous mistakes than that and were welcomed with opened arms by the media ). The thing about Justin was that he kept quiet the whole time as if nothing ever happened...while Janet was recording apology tapes, Justin was off being welcomed with open arms by the "high" society when he could have stepped up and defended Janet by saying that the whole incident was a minor mistake and that it was rediculous that she was being shunned in the music industry at that time. A lot of things he was invited to and yet she wasn't, around that time, he could have boycotted by not attending as well unless they started treating Janet with the respect she deserved...but he didn't, and so he comes off as a media whore brat in many eyes today. I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

Can I get an "Amen"? You hit the nail right on the head. RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

Funny how we both agree with Harlepolis' statement, yet we both have a picture of Prince as our avatars. Go figure. RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

Can anybody say, "Diva"? RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

Aretha never respect Glynn as a man. Even Glynn himself admitted in an interview (in front of Aretha) that being married to her is hard work. But every time Glynn mention publicily OR privately the problems that existed in the married, Aretha would keep saying that there is no problem at all like she isn't doing anything wrong on her part and she expected her husband to just deal with it like it is without whining.

Is this the husband that got caught with her son? Space for sale...

I think you're talking about Patti LaBelle, Sos.

No, it's not. The Glynn I'm talking about is the same one that used to be on that sitcom A Different World.

I'm surprised to this day that his interview with Larry King didn't go nowhere He was extremely soft on him had he roughed him up verbally like he did to some of his guests, we would've gotton a great interview.

I thought that was the husband that got caught. Harle? Space for sale...

^^^Just noticed Harle ain't gonna be no help. Y'all don't remember that Aretha thread where all of this came out? Err....hmmm... Space for sale...

OFF-TOPIC: How can any interviewer get verbally rough with Prince if the artist himself does NOT want to talk too much about his personal past due to his religion faith of choice?
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
I'm sorry, did I give the impression that I was "411"?
But no, I don't remember the thread. I DO remember that in the early 2000s, there was supposedly this scandal about Patti catching her son with her ex-husband. I thought you got the two confused, but apparently ReRe went through the same ordeal.

You can't be serious, Tony?
This is Larry King, not just any interviewer. If you agreed to have a conversation with him, you can't dictate how he asks his ?uestions in the first place. It doesn't have to be his personal past either, just DROP the diplomacy about his battle with WB and reveal that he too is a control freak, greedy S.O.B. like them. Is that too much to ask?
But then again, obviously he dictated the interview after all,,,,,the lil' shit

A great question like that is enough to make Prince to NEVER give another interview ever again.
Or even worst (but in a good way), the old Prince might come out of no way and really answer the question (foul language included) likes it 1985!

1. Good. That will put at end to lying preaching and make him put MORE focus on verbalizing his thoughts in music instead.
2. Even better, we would've gotton a straight-to-the-chase sit down from him instead of the usual ass licking treatment he gets from Tavis

Totally agree with Harlepolis and others about Prince. And it's such an unnecessary shame. It's funny how some folks view the clouded veil of multiple personalties as mysterious and full of intrigue. "Oooh it's what makes prince so attractive and unobtainable".
What a load of crap. And I don't even want to touch on the religious stuff. That's too much of a grey area, (even if I do have strong opinions on it).
Issues like the Irish concert and the Lotusflower website debacle need to be owned. The person most responsible for managing Prince's fan base is Prince. If he doesn't like the way the music biz game has changed, then figure out a new way to communicate with your fans and get them the music. Leaving your base high and dry is not a good recipe for loyalty.
Again - such a shame.
The only other one that jumps out at me is the Pete Townshend from the 60s and 70s. So many people looked at his antics and said, "yeah man - rock and roll"!!!
Pardon my French, but more often than not it was just Pete being a spoiled douche. And he's one of my favorite songwriters of all time.

I think Sophie Ellis-Bextor is beautiful and I like her voice. I've never seen her in an interview, but I'm sure she's intolerable.

I though poor Tarvis damn nearly had to suck Prince's dick for THAT interview in all honestly?

Eddie Van Halen.. he's turned into a greedy business rather a musician/artist, with all the over-the-top 'EVH' signature products, plus he's stubborn and most of his interviews make for a cringeworthy experience..
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
Eddie Van Halen - as noted, he's just greedy, and he's bitter and a know it all
Streisand - a bit big headed, too much for her own good
Prince - "Buy it, fuck you, buy it, fuck you."
Aguilera - she just tries too hard to be something she's not - yet.
Beyonce - she's just a liar, and a phenom poser.
Timberlake - A bit too much "My shit don't stink". He's already getting that "I can piss on a record and sell 5 million" thing Prince had.
David Lee Roth - while I can totally appreciate his wild man persona on stage (and perhaps in the bedroom according to his own words), in other situations like interviews and appearances it often crosses the line of being rude, inconsiderate, and a bit too manic for his own good.
Any young hip-hop or R&B "star" who thinks after one record selling a few copies, that they suddenly have 30 years of swagger under their belt. The whole baggy jeans, diamond necklace, gold grill - all that nonsense is just SOOOO annoying and over done. NO one is original or more flashy than the next by doing that. Everyone screams about being original and bringing something new and hot, but yet it's all one big, uninteresting blur. When you're that young, and done so little in the framework of time and career, you have zero right to come across like that.
