Wow, wow, WOW.

Sound of Silver completely blew me away in 2007, ranking as one of my top 5 albums of the 2000s. Ever since, I've eagerly anticipated a follow-up, and it has arrived in the form of This Is Happening. The band has made it available to stream through their website, and I'm on my first listen through. I can already tell that I adore it 4 songs in.

The highlight so far is "All I Want", which carries that beautiful juxtaposition of elated sadness that made "All My Friends" a classic of this generation. It seriously recalls Bowie's "Heroes", which is always a good thing!

Apparently, this will be the last album the band releases, and it sounds like they're going out with a bang.

I apologize for the fawning fanboy tone of this thread, but I suppose that's what I am right now.

The lead single has drawn a bit of flack. I think I probably like each of the other 8 songs more, but I don't mind it, pastiche of "White Light/White Heat" though it may be.

Nonetheless, the video is just hysterical!

I love "Drunk Girls", I think its got everything.

It does sound like VU.
