I probably like all 12 songs on Rhythm Nation 1814 more than "The Pleasure Principle". It doesn't mean that "The Pleasure Principle" isn't totally awesome, though. love

So "The Knowledge" is a better song than "The Pleasure Principle?" biggrin

not that it's not a solid album track. whistle

I think so!

The hell you say! "The Knowledge" is just as funky as "Now" from Prince. And the dancing in the video is farkin' off the hook!

However, to compare 1814 and Control is apples and oranges. Control was very R&B/Pop, whereas 1814 showed a LOT of growth musically and lyrically. There were sounds on 1814 that had never been in music before, or ever heard before in general. It's a motherfucking masterpiece. Control is certainly a strong album on its own, and did quite well for her obviously. It's like comparing "Let's Work" to "Hot Thing". Both are great...on their own albums.

Other than "Pleasure Principle" being tops (without a doubt), thinking of the other ones is a bit hard. They are strong singles.

1. Pleasure Principle
2. Control
3. What Have You Done For Me Lately
4. Nasty
5. When I Think Of You
6. Let's Wait A While (but by no means do I dislike it...I do much prefer the accidentally mentioned "Come Back To Me")

3 Control (video version only)
4. What Have You Done For Me Lately? (Jimmy Jam's piano noodling is perfect - it wasn't even supposed to be on the song.)
5. Nasty
6. Let's Wait Awhile

I finally agree with U on something.

I recently ripped the vinyl single of Pleasure Principle, compressed it to a zip file and sent it to someone who said it was their favorite Janet song.

After I had already provided the link, I asked if I could expect some sexy private pics in return boxed

He did not take it so well boxed

It was just a joke! omfg He made off with the Shep Pettibone 7" version and blocked me. sigh

I'm so sorry redface pray
