I Hate 2 Admit This, But...

I'm really diggin' the Justin Timberlake cd, "Justified".

Say what u will (and I know u will!! wink ) but, it's really a grade "A" effort, very polished and musically very good. Anyone who digs Michael Jackson from the "Off The Wall" days, should dig this disc as well... it's that polished!

Now, I ain't sayin' it's gonna change the world...and I listened 2 it just knowing I was gonna dislike it...but I gotta give the young man some props. It's a worthy solo debut.

The only thing I really don't like about this disc is in the song "Senorita" he asks the guys and gals 2 sing this lame question/answer lick... and adding the "chu" in the "wit 'chu" part. He was not raised in the Bronx or in the hood...he needs 2 drop the ghetto-hip-hop slang. It don't work. The song is good, 'cept 4 that shit.

Otherwise - fine piece of work.

(No props 4 this edit!! evil )

Just saw a picture of him on Rolling Stone and I gotta say that he has some fabulous abs.

Kick ass songs so far:

"Like I Love You"
"Senorita" - ('cept 4 the lame shit mentioned above)
"Cry Me A River"
"Rock Your Body" - Fuckin' jammin'!
"Last Night" - I really like the hook, great vocals!
"Nothin' Else" - Very smooth slow track... great music and harmonies.
"(And She Said) Take Me Now"

IMHO, of course... smile

Much as I dislike her new "Nasty Ho" image... I love her voice... it has remained her saving grace. It's always been what's separated her from the others.

Justin is catchy but nothing more or nothing less IMHO overall a dime a dozen to me.I'd link His Album more Closer too Al B.Sure's "In Effect Mode" which is alright for what is but He doesn't have a "Nite&Day" type of Song on His Album.but Justin has Catchy material."Cry Me a River" is the type of song You find youself saying for no reason at all.He is Catchy like saying "where's the Beef"? you know? as for Christina:She is a Good Singer&I'd Hit it but as a Artist? She needs Material that Highlight Her Voice¬ Her Hair IMHO.She could have a Linda Ronstadt type of Career if She allows HerSelf too branch in different Music Areas?time will tell.

I've been debating whether to get this and Christina albums for several weeks.

I must say that Justin is the best Micheal Jackson rip off artist yet.

I like Christina's album a lot. For some reason, I have a hard time living in the same world where Justin Timberlake is a huge star. But I've contemplated giving his album a chance, anyhow. The thing that keeps me from doing it is whenever I hear the end of "Cry me a River" and that crappy production at the end comes in and ruins the whole song and makes it sound completely idiotic. You may not know what I'm talking about- but to me the way his producers ended that song ruined it for me.

Did ya know that all of the Neptune produced songs on Justified were originally for Michael Jackson himself? I don't know the whole reason they were rejected but i think at the time they were presented to him Pharrell and Chad were not big time producers.

Sorry mistermaxxx, this might b our 1st disagreement!

U know I looove me some Michael Jackson... probably one of his biggest supporters, so trust me when I say the production on this disc is something close 2 what Michael has or should have released.

It's polished!

If u haven't really listened 2 it, if u've only heard the radio cuts, I urge u 2 check out "Rock Your Body" or "Last Night"... 2 of my faves!

Thank U, peace

No I don't listen to a lot of MJ clone acts. I try to avoid artists that blatantly rip others of without adding their own style to the mix. However, Justin is very good at it. And I don't feel it's an insult to MJ at all. Then again I'm not a huge MJ fan, never have been.

But off the top of my head I can only think of one other recent MJ rip off and that is Usher. And Usher doesn't sound like MJ.

again some dumbass talks about ripping off; if that's the case mike ripped off james brown and fred astaire, prince ripped off jimi hendrix and james brown, etc. being (strongly) influenced and not denying it isn't the same as ripping off, remember that, remember that..

about the album; only heard a couple of tunes from 'justified', but i absolutely loved them. 'senorita' is just the shit, same as 'like i love you', cry me a river' and 'still in my brain'. 'rock your body' is cool, but not as cool as everybody's making it out to be imo.
don't need no reefer, don't need cocaine
purple music does the same to my brain
i'm high, so high

I've only heard the 2 singles he released, but I kinda like em too. redface Especially "Cry Me a River". I was talking about this with a friend and we were both embarrassed to admit we liked it. Ah well fuck it, it's good!

And we've spent so long saying how pathetic and unworthy Rolling Stone is now, not to mention the music industry for manufacturing acts. Well i can say they've done their job well. Their spell is working on everyone, we are internalising the modern music scene. It's all lost...
