But this makes me wonder if the label had the final say in the matter though. Like they got what Christina was trying to deliver and ended up changing the entire album. Then again we don't know the rest of the songs are gonna be on the album but this is not getting off on the right foot so far. | |

Or that horrid last-minute-duet with Madonna that has virtually no melody or hook and sounds like Paulinho Da Costa on speed? I didn't see Herbie Hancock or Andrea Bocelli asking Britney to get on their record(s). All that said, the song in question is horrid, no doubt. It's ridiculous for a girl with her talent and potential to still grow as an artist. As midiscover said, the girl still doesn't have her own sound or style at this point. On what planet? ANOM did respectively well, peaked in the Top 10 on Pop radio, but lets not pretend it was this huge monster smash everyone was bumpin to. And "Candyman" was a hardcore flop, surprised you even mentioned it. The truth of the matter is Xtinca's star has done nothing but faded as the years went on. She's never attained the public's attention like some of her more prevalent peers that goes along with being an A-list star. Sure you can name all those singles but to society in general she has no classics. The average person couldn't name anything other than "Beautiful", maybe "Genie." You can talk shit about Britney all you want but at least she can keep a song afloat in the Top 50 on I-tunes for a whole week based off her name. Christina can't do the same because no one's interested. And when the lead single off of an established artist flops this badly it's a warning sign that the inevitable is pretty much on the horizon. And the quality of the track isn't helping whatsoever.
After this era flops she should seriously think about signing to a smaller label where she can crank out some jazz/pop standards and call it a day. | |

I would also like to add that Xtina should stop pushing the sexual image. Nobody cared when she released "Dirrty" and nobody cares now if you're comfortable in your own body. There are certain artist that could pull it off like Janet, Madonna and even Britney. Also after hearing one of her interviews she's heading down the same route Janet went. Honestly, I am really surprised that people with great musical tastes can't tell that this is an awesome track.
I had trouble getting past the lyrics at first, and thought they were kind of stupid. However, the melody and the music is kick ass. And Christina sounds better than she has ever sounded on this song. And now that I've had time to absorb it, I actually like this track. Is it the best song I've heard from her? No, not at all. But I can see how this could become a hit. And Christina is singing the hell out of this track. All you Xtina haters need to shut up. The girl has a hell of a lot of talent. Granted, the two songs, "Lift Me Up" and "You Lost Me" are honestly the best songs I've heard from the studio sessions so far. | |

In the last three years, Britney has had 2 #1 singles (one which debuted at #1), a #1 album, the 3rd best selling tour in the USA and the 5th best selling tour in the world and 3 million copies of her album Circus sold. That's an amazing feat considering she was almost dead back at the start of 2008. She now has 50/50 custody of her kids and is in a relationship with a guy she's known for years. Just because YOU fail to keep up with the times, doesn't mean she's a flop because right now she's anything but and you look like a damn fool trying to prove otherwise.
